The topicality of study
 The topicality of this study is representing the phraseological
units, paremiology (proverbs), idioms, translation of meanings
(metaphors) related to the concept “wedding” in English. The
concept of "wedding" is associated with the English people
and how this concept is interpreted. It is about how this
concept is actually expressed, both culturally and
linguistically, among the English people, and through this
linguocultural study, their differences and similarities are
theoretically proven through the scientific views and
quotations of various scholars.
 Subject of research. The subject of this research is the study of cognitive as well as the
representation of the word "wedding" in linguocultural an cognition perspectives.
 The object of the study was selected lexical units and phrases related to the concept of
"wedding" in English and the representation of the concept “wedding” in linguocultural aspect

THE AIM OF THE STUDY
To scientifically substantiate the linguocultural essence of the lexical unit of the idea
of "wedding" in English, as well as to scientifically establish the similarities and
differences of the lexical unit.
To achieve this goal, the following tasks are set:
 - explain the basic notions of cognitive linguistics;
 - to study the aspects of the concept in terms of cognitology and linguocultural
studies;
 - To study the level of study of the concept of "wedding";
 - to study the relationship between linguocultural studies and cognitive linguistics;
 - to study the concept of "wedding" in both English and Uzbek, besides that
semantic analysis of words, phraseologies, idioms and parems associated with this
concept.
The Novelty
 The novelty of the dissertation is explained by the following:
the concept "wedding", which means a positive state for
almost all peoples, has been discussed in several dissertations
in different languages, and scientific conclusions have been
drawn, highlighting the fact that it is expressed in several
points of view. However, it has not been studied in the
linguocultural aspect what exactly the concept of "wedding" is
associated with in the culture of the English people.
 Problem development status: The following scholars worked on these
sphere of science such as S. A. Askoldov[1], D. S. Lihacheva, S. G.
Vorkachev, V.A. Maslova, V. Fon. Gumboldt, George Lakoff, Mark Johnson, T.
A. van Djik,V. I. Karasik. T. A. Volkova, D. U. Ashurova, Sh. Safarov[2], Sh. T.
Makhmaraimova.
 Methodological base of the given dissertation paper is based on works, such
as concept “Свадьба” by Dun Jan, “Love-Marriage-Wedding in English
linguoculture” by Terkeeva Veronika Vladimirovna, “Concept Marriage in
English language” by Sorokova Alisa Sergeevna on cognitive linguistics and
linguoculturology.
 A description of the methods used in the study. In this work, the methods
of descriptive, statistical, contextual analysis, cross-cultural analysis were
effectively used in the process of linguocultural research of the concept of
"wedding" in English.

 The structure of the dissertation paper consists of an introduction, three
chapters, a conclusion, a bibliographic list.
 General summary and recommendations. The justification for the
dissertation's topic selection is presented in the introduction, aim and
objectives of the research are determined, the novelty, theoretical and
practical value of the work is revealed. The first chapter deals with
theoretical information connected with the cognitive and cultural linguistics;
basic notions of cognitive linguistics and aspects of notion concept belonged
to cognitology and linguoculturology. The second chapter deals with
linguocultural aspects in conept “wedding”. The third chapter analyses the
concept “wedding” in linguoculturology. In the conclusion, the main points of
the dissertation paper and the results will be summarized for further
research. The dissertation can be continued in the framework of following
topics: pragmatic and cultural features of notion “wedding”, frame analysis
of concept “wedding”, conceptual analysis of wedding in English and other
languages and etc
CHAPTER I. THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE ANALYSE OF
THE CONCEPT “W EDDING IN THE ENGLISH
1.1 Basic notions of cognitive linguistics
 In the second half of the twentieth century, the science of
cognitive linguistics emerged as a science that seeks answers to
questions about the means of the "artificial intelligence"
system, which emerged as a result of the development of
information technology. This science is also part of the sciences
that deal with human cognitive activity. Cognitive linguistics is
the science that studies language as a cultural phenomenon,
examining the construction of human knowledge and
experience. The meaning of the term cognitive linguistics is
related to the English word "cognitive". (Compare: "cognize - to
know , to understand", "cognition - to know").
There are aspects of cognitive linguistics that differ from
a number of other areas in terms of their specific
characteristics:
 1) this branch of linguistics first of all considers language as a
cognitive ability of the person in interpretation of object
(including Sh. Safarov, D.U.Ashurova, E.S.Kubriyakova, G.Lakoff,
E.Rought);
 2) the field has research methods that take the processes of
conceptualization and categorization, demonstrating a
multifaceted approach to the analysis of the semantics of
language units.
 On the other hand , the object of study of cognitive
linguistics is the study of the structure of perceptions
of knowledge and their interpretation of language
possibilities in various cognitive processes
(comprehension, analysis, construction of linguistic
information), as well as the study of their emergence .

capabilities (language knowledge) as an internal
cognitive structure, a process of communicative
dynamics in the information processing system.
The following are the tasks of cognitive
linguistics:
 1) identify the role of language in the emergence of human
knowledge;
 2) to understand the processes of categorization of the universe
and its objects (formation of concepts into species), conceptualization
(formation of concepts) and naming (nomination);
 3) determine the relationship between the conceptual system and
the language system;
 4) uncovering issues related to linguistic and cognitive (conceptual)
images of world[5] .
1.2 THE ASPECTS OF THE NOTION CONCEPT
REGARDING TO COGNITOLOGY AND
LINGUOCULTUROLOGY
 The term "concept" has been used in linguistics since
the 1990s . However, the concept still does not have a
single general explanation or interpretation.
 One of the most famous linguists in the study of
concepts is S.A.Askoldov. He described the concept as
"a unit that reflects the process of thinking about one
type or another of concepts. "[1,269] .
 N.D.Aryutunova, on the other hand, takes a slightly philosophical
approach to the meaning of the concept and considers it a
practical concept in CULTURE , between the national tradition,
life experience, religion, ideology, folklore, images of art and the
process of thinking. reflects the relationship. The concept
“represents a cultural layer that connects man and the world
[7] . If we pay attention to this idea and connect the concept of
man with the term concept, we can understand that it expresses
in one word the set of topical ideas embodied around man.
S.A.Askoldov also considered the concept of a “spiritual person
who replaces many objects in mental activity” along with the
study of concepts .
According to its content and level of abstraction,
A.P.Babushkin classified the concept into the following
types:
 1) concrete role ;
 2) scheme;
 3) understanding;
 4) prototype;
 5) frame;
 6) script (script);
We have argued that in cognitive linguistics, a concept is
considered a key figure. This can be confirmed by the
following cases:

• the concept is considered as a mental unit representing the mental resource units of
human consciousness, the information structure that reflects human knowledge and
experience;

cognitive
semantics
• one of the main branches of cognitive linguistics is the study of the nature and
structure of the concept
In
cognitive
linguistics
• the relationship between concept and word meanings is mainly analyzed.
CHAPTER II. Linguocultural aspects in the research of
concept "Wedding"
2.1. Interrelations of linguoculturolgy and cognitive
linguistics
 Linguoculturology is one of the newly
emerged linguistic disciplines developed
within the framework of the anthropocentric
paradigm. It is a rapidly expanding field at
the interface between linguistics, cultural
studies, cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics
and sociolinguistics.
 Linguoculturology deals with the deep level
of semantics of linguistic units, and brings
into correlation linguistic meanings and the
concepts of universal and national cultures.
Since Linguoculturology is a relatively new
discipline, there is no exact periodization of
its evolution. However, V.A. Maslova singles
out two periods:
The first one is based on the works by W.
von Humboldt, E. Sapir and B. Whorf in
western linguistics and the works by A.A.
Potebnya in Russia.
The second period started in the 90th of the
XX century and since then it has been
regarded as an independent branch of
linguistics
Along with these two periods, the scholars
outline an upcoming one in the last decade
– the development of Linguoculturology as
an interdisciplinary science
The closest links are observed between
Cognitive Linguistics and Linguoculturology
 Cognitive Linguistics, as is known, studies the relationships between language and
mind, language and socio-psychological experience. In Cognitive Linguistics, language is
regarded as:
 a) a cognitive mechanism that encodes and transfers a great amount of information;
 b) an integral part of cognition that represents different types of knowledge structures;
 c) a mental phenomenon that provides access to the conceptual system of the human;
 d) a tool of processing, storing and transferring information.
 It focuses on the processes of conceptualization, categorization and interpretation of
the world information, knowledge structures and their verbal representations.
 The notion of “concept” is considered to be one of the main notions
of Cognitive Linguistics and Linguoculturology. From the positions of
Cognitive Linguistics “concept” is regarded as a complex mental unit,
a means of representation of knowledge structures, a multifold
cognitive structure, an operational unit of memory (Kubryakova E.S.,
Demyankov V.Z., Boldyrev N.N., Alefirenko N.F., Sternin I.A.).
Cognitive linguists argue that concept is a part of our general
knowledge about the world, a unit of the conceptual system reflecting
the human cognitive activity. From the perspectives of
linguoculturology “concept” is defined as a basic unit of culture, its
core; a mental, cultural and nationally specific unit characterized by
an array of emotional, expressive and evaluative components; a
constituent part of the national conceptosphere
Notion of “Wedding: in English and
Uzbek
 The tradition of “Wedding” is a cultural legacy for both of nations as there
concrete customs and habits are carried out. Proverbs, idioms realias,
symbols of the English and Uzbek languages enable to get acquainted with the
whole process of English and Uzbek.
 The analysis of wedding traditions was carried out as a part of linguistic,
linguoculturological studies of family traditions. In this scientific research we
compared specific features, similarities and unique aspects of Cognitive and
cultural linguistics. Etymological method of linguistics was used in the
revealing of the notion of “wedding”, descriptive method depicted a wedding
ceremony, comparative method contributed to search and compare
phraseological units related to Cognitive and cultural linguistics in both of the
languages.
 For the English linguculturology, the notion “Tuy” has the following etymological
meanings: “to pledge”, “to engage, wed”, being a French word its original form was
as “weddung, weddian”, afterwards addition “-ing” formed today’s modern for
“wedding” (Klein,1971), as for Uzbek “toy” is an ancient Turkic word that is
“wedding” in English, has a preliminary form “toq” later formed into “toy” because of
assimilation meant “to satisfy the hunger” and “to occupy a space” (Rahmatullayev,
2005).
 Descriptive method provided explanation on the meaning of “wedding”. According to
Merriam-Webster English explanatory dictionary “wedding” has some meanings:
 1) a marriage ceremony usually with its accompanying festivities;
 2) an act, process, or instance of joining in close association;
 3) a wedding anniversary or its celebration —usually used in combination: a golden
wedding (Wedding, 2020).
 National Uzbek Encyclopedia gives the following definition for
the word “tuy”: “a custom organized with banquet,
celebration and merriments”. Explanatory dictionary of the
Uzbek language gives the following definition: “Tuy (wedding)
is a party or celebration organized and realized among people
on the reason of marrying one’s children” (Madvaliyev, 2009).
Finally, selection of English and Uzbek proverbs, idioms about
wedding tradition presented an opportunity to use
comparative-typological method and find out cultural specific
features of this concept. Dictionary of proverbs and idioms in
both languages are the basic sources of our research.

Table №1 illustrates English and Uzbek proverbs
about wedding tradition found out in the paremilogical
fund. For English, wedding is associated with happy
moments send by destiny which is possibly brings
happiness not only for newly-weds, but for those who
present on a wedding day. For Uzbek, wedding is,
firstly a significant event that shouldn’t be delayed or
postponed unless reasons are serious. Besides, Uzbek
prefer to organize their wedding with advice,
recommendations of the friends and relatives.
Certainly, there exist a great number of associations
with wedding tradition, but they are not reflected in
phraseological units. Examples given in the table
attempt to reveal specific feature of WT of each
culture.

 Cross-cultural communications are of a great importance in
today’s developing world. Both English and Uzbek wedding
traditions possess considerable systemic potentials. In English
lexical system there fixed associations such as “wedding
preparations”, “importance of wedding cake, dance” and
after wedding activities. In phraseological level, the notion
wedding tradition includes a number of specific elements that
was not revealed in the Uzbek linguculturology: choosing an
appropriate wedding date, paying attention to the symbolic
elements in a bride’s dress and to accompany a bride in a
church. For Uzbek, lexical level of wedding tradition is
associated with rituals carried out on a wedding day and post-
wedding ritual, phraseological level includes prewedding
rituals.
Summary
 The concept "wedding" is a universal category and plays a very important role
in the culture of every nation; in all languages they reflect not only universal
concepts, but also completely different meanings and properties of the
objective world, which explains their different manifestations in language.
The linguistic picture of the world influences people and forms their linguistic
consciousness, and with them their cultural and national identity.
 For each culture, the "wedding" ceremony is a special traditional ritual. Thus,
the linguoculturological concept of "wedding" in each of the analyzed cultures
has its own national -specific features, characterized by deep traditions,
conditioned by philosophical and religious beliefs.
 Analysis show that wedding tradition is inherent for both English And Uzbek
linguocultures, however we reveled more dissimilar unique features of it
rather than similar. Importance of the availability of specifically prepared
wedding dishes, guests’ wishes and greetings addressed for newly-weds were
found out similar feature of wedding traditions reflected in the languages.

The topicality of study  The topicality of this study is representing the phraseological units, paremiology (proverbs), idioms, translation of meanings (metaphors) related to the concept “wedding” in English. The concept of "wedding" is associated with the English people and how this concept is interpreted. It is about how this concept is actually expressed, both culturally and linguistically, among the English people, and through this linguocultural study, their differences and similarities are theoretically proven through the scientific views and quotations of various scholars.

The subject of this research is the study of cognitive as well as the representation of the word "wedding" in linguocultural an cognition perspectives.  The object of the study was selected lexical units and phrases related to the concept of "wedding" in English and the representation of the concept “wedding” in linguocultural aspect

THE AIM OF THE STUDY To scientifically substantiate the linguocultural essence of the lexical unit of the idea of "wedding" in English, as well as to scientifically establish the similarities and differences of the lexical unit. To achieve this goal, the following tasks are set:  - explain the basic notions of cognitive linguistics;  - to study the aspects of the concept in terms of cognitology and linguocultural studies;  - To study the level of study of the concept of "wedding";  - to study the relationship between linguocultural studies and cognitive linguistics;  - to study the concept of "wedding" in both English and Uzbek, besides that semantic analysis of words, phraseologies, idioms and parems associated with this concept.

The Novelty  The novelty of the dissertation is explained by the following: the concept "wedding", which means a positive state for almost all peoples, has been discussed in several dissertations in different languages, and scientific conclusions have been drawn, highlighting the fact that it is expressed in several points of view. However, it has not been studied in the linguocultural aspect what exactly the concept of "wedding" is associated with in the culture of the English people.
  • 8.  Problem development status: The following scholars worked on these sphere of science such as S. A. Askoldov[1], D. S. Lihacheva, S. G. Vorkachev, V.A. Maslova, V. Fon. Gumboldt, George Lakoff, Mark Johnson, T. A. van Djik,V. I. Karasik. T. A. Volkova, D. U. Ashurova, Sh. Safarov[2], Sh. T. Makhmaraimova.  Methodological base of the given dissertation paper is based on works, such as concept “Свадьба” by Dun Jan, “Love-Marriage-Wedding in English linguoculture” by Terkeeva Veronika Vladimirovna, “Concept Marriage in English language” by Sorokova Alisa Sergeevna on cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology.  A description of the methods used in the study. In this work, the methods of descriptive, statistical, contextual analysis, cross-cultural analysis were effectively used in the process of linguocultural research of the concept of "wedding" in English.

  • 10.  The structure of the dissertation paper consists of an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, a bibliographic list.  General summary and recommendations. The justification for the dissertation's topic selection is presented in the introduction, aim and objectives of the research are determined, the novelty, theoretical and practical value of the work is revealed. The first chapter deals with theoretical information connected with the cognitive and cultural linguistics; basic notions of cognitive linguistics and aspects of notion concept belonged to cognitology and linguoculturology. The second chapter deals with linguocultural aspects in conept “wedding”. The third chapter analyses the concept “wedding” in linguoculturology. In the conclusion, the main points of the dissertation paper and the results will be summarized for further research. The dissertation can be continued in the framework of following topics: pragmatic and cultural features of notion “wedding”, frame analysis of concept “wedding”, conceptual analysis of wedding in English and other languages and etc
  • 11. CHAPTER I. THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE ANALYSE OF THE CONCEPT “W EDDING IN THE ENGLISH 1.1 Basic notions of cognitive linguistics  In the second half of the twentieth century, the science of cognitive linguistics emerged as a science that seeks answers to questions about the means of the "artificial intelligence" system, which emerged as a result of the development of information technology. This science is also part of the sciences that deal with human cognitive activity. Cognitive linguistics is the science that studies language as a cultural phenomenon, examining the construction of human knowledge and experience. The meaning of the term cognitive linguistics is related to the English word "cognitive". (Compare: "cognize - to know , to understand", "cognition - to know").
  • 12. There are aspects of cognitive linguistics that differ from a number of other areas in terms of their specific characteristics:  1) this branch of linguistics first of all considers language as a cognitive ability of the person in interpretation of object (including Sh. Safarov, D.U.Ashurova, E.S.Kubriyakova, G.Lakoff, E.Rought);  2) the field has research methods that take the processes of conceptualization and categorization, demonstrating a multifaceted approach to the analysis of the semantics of language units.
  • 13.  On the other hand , the object of study of cognitive linguistics is the study of the structure of perceptions of knowledge and their interpretation of language possibilities in various cognitive processes (comprehension, analysis, construction of linguistic information), as well as the study of their emergence . includes z. Explores current issues such as language capabilities (language knowledge) as an internal cognitive structure, a process of communicative dynamics in the information processing system.

The following are the tasks of cognitive linguistics:  1) identify the role of language in the emergence of human knowledge;  2) to understand the processes of categorization of the universe and its objects (formation of concepts into species), conceptualization (formation of concepts) and naming (nomination);  3) determine the relationship between the conceptual system and the language system;  4) uncovering issues related to linguistic and cognitive (conceptual) images of world[5] .
  • 15. 1.2 THE ASPECTS OF THE NOTION CONCEPT REGARDING TO COGNITOLOGY AND LINGUOCULTUROLOGY  The term "concept" has been used in linguistics since the 1990s . However, the concept still does not have a single general explanation or interpretation.  One of the most famous linguists in the study of concepts is S.A.Askoldov. He described the concept as "a unit that reflects the process of thinking about one type or another of concepts. "[1,269] .
  • 16.  N.D.Aryutunova, on the other hand, takes a slightly philosophical approach to the meaning of the concept and considers it a practical concept in CULTURE , between the national tradition, life experience, religion, ideology, folklore, images of art and the process of thinking. reflects the relationship. The concept “represents a cultural layer that connects man and the world [7] . If we pay attention to this idea and connect the concept of man with the term concept, we can understand that it expresses in one word the set of topical ideas embodied around man. S.A.Askoldov also considered the concept of a “spiritual person who replaces many objects in mental activity” along with the study of concepts .
  • 17. According to its content and level of abstraction, A.P.Babushkin classified the concept into the following types:  1) concrete role ;  2) scheme;  3) understanding;  4) prototype;  5) frame;  6) script (script);
  • 18. We have argued that in cognitive linguistics, a concept is considered a key figure. This can be confirmed by the following cases: in the cognitive sphere • the concept is considered as a mental unit representing the mental resource units of human consciousness, the information structure that reflects human knowledge and experience; In cognitive semantics • one of the main branches of cognitive linguistics is the study of the nature and structure of the concept In cognitive linguistics • the relationship between concept and word meanings is mainly analyzed.
  • 19. CHAPTER II. Linguocultural aspects in the research of concept "Wedding" 2.1. Interrelations of linguoculturolgy and cognitive linguistics  Linguoculturology is one of the newly emerged linguistic disciplines developed within the framework of the anthropocentric paradigm. It is a rapidly expanding field at the interface between linguistics, cultural studies, cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics and sociolinguistics.  Linguoculturology deals with the deep level of semantics of linguistic units, and brings into correlation linguistic meanings and the concepts of universal and national cultures. Since Linguoculturology is a relatively new discipline, there is no exact periodization of its evolution. However, V.A. Maslova singles out two periods: The first one is based on the works by W. von Humboldt, E. Sapir and B. Whorf in western linguistics and the works by A.A. Potebnya in Russia. The second period started in the 90th of the XX century and since then it has been regarded as an independent branch of linguistics Along with these two periods, the scholars outline an upcoming one in the last decade – the development of Linguoculturology as an interdisciplinary science

The closest links are observed between Cognitive Linguistics and Linguoculturology  Cognitive Linguistics, as is known, studies the relationships between language and mind, language and socio-psychological experience. In Cognitive Linguistics, language is regarded as:  a) a cognitive mechanism that encodes and transfers a great amount of information;  b) an integral part of cognition that represents different types of knowledge structures;  c) a mental phenomenon that provides access to the conceptual system of the human;  d) a tool of processing, storing and transferring information.  It focuses on the processes of conceptualization, categorization and interpretation of the world information, knowledge structures and their verbal representations.
  • 21.  The notion of “concept” is considered to be one of the main notions of Cognitive Linguistics and Linguoculturology. From the positions of Cognitive Linguistics “concept” is regarded as a complex mental unit, a means of representation of knowledge structures, a multifold cognitive structure, an operational unit of memory (Kubryakova E.S., Demyankov V.Z., Boldyrev N.N., Alefirenko N.F., Sternin I.A.). Cognitive linguists argue that concept is a part of our general knowledge about the world, a unit of the conceptual system reflecting the human cognitive activity. From the perspectives of linguoculturology “concept” is defined as a basic unit of culture, its core; a mental, cultural and nationally specific unit characterized by an array of emotional, expressive and evaluative components; a constituent part of the national conceptosphere
  • 22. Notion of “Wedding: in English and Uzbek  The tradition of “Wedding” is a cultural legacy for both of nations as there concrete customs and habits are carried out. Proverbs, idioms realias, symbols of the English and Uzbek languages enable to get acquainted with the whole process of English and Uzbek.  The analysis of wedding traditions was carried out as a part of linguistic, linguoculturological studies of family traditions. In this scientific research we compared specific features, similarities and unique aspects of Cognitive and cultural linguistics. Etymological method of linguistics was used in the revealing of the notion of “wedding”, descriptive method depicted a wedding ceremony, comparative method contributed to search and compare phraseological units related to Cognitive and cultural linguistics in both of the languages.
  • 23.  For the English linguculturology, the notion “Tuy” has the following etymological meanings: “to pledge”, “to engage, wed”, being a French word its original form was as “weddung, weddian”, afterwards addition “-ing” formed today’s modern for “wedding” (Klein,1971), as for Uzbek “toy” is an ancient Turkic word that is “wedding” in English, has a preliminary form “toq” later formed into “toy” because of assimilation meant “to satisfy the hunger” and “to occupy a space” (Rahmatullayev, 2005).  Descriptive method provided explanation on the meaning of “wedding”. According to Merriam-Webster English explanatory dictionary “wedding” has some meanings:  1) a marriage ceremony usually with its accompanying festivities;  2) an act, process, or instance of joining in close association;  3) a wedding anniversary or its celebration —usually used in combination: a golden wedding (Wedding, 2020).
  • 24.  National Uzbek Encyclopedia gives the following definition for the word “tuy”: “a custom organized with banquet, celebration and merriments”. Explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language gives the following definition: “Tuy (wedding) is a party or celebration organized and realized among people on the reason of marrying one’s children” (Madvaliyev, 2009). Finally, selection of English and Uzbek proverbs, idioms about wedding tradition presented an opportunity to use comparative-typological method and find out cultural specific features of this concept. Dictionary of proverbs and idioms in both languages are the basic sources of our research.

For English, wedding is associated with happy moments send by destiny which is possibly brings happiness not only for newly-weds, but for those who present on a wedding day. For Uzbek, wedding is, firstly a significant event that shouldn’t be delayed or postponed unless reasons are serious. Besides, Uzbek prefer to organize their wedding with advice, recommendations of the friends and relatives. Certainly, there exist a great number of associations with wedding tradition, but they are not reflected in phraseological units. Examples given in the table attempt to reveal specific feature of WT of each culture.

  • 27.  Cross-cultural communications are of a great importance in today’s developing world. Both English and Uzbek wedding traditions possess considerable systemic potentials. In English lexical system there fixed associations such as “wedding preparations”, “importance of wedding cake, dance” and after wedding activities. In phraseological level, the notion wedding tradition includes a number of specific elements that was not revealed in the Uzbek linguculturology: choosing an appropriate wedding date, paying attention to the symbolic elements in a bride’s dress and to accompany a bride in a church. For Uzbek, lexical level of wedding tradition is associated with rituals carried out on a wedding day and post- wedding ritual, phraseological level includes prewedding rituals.
  • 28. Summary  The concept "wedding" is a universal category and plays a very important role in the culture of every nation; in all languages they reflect not only universal concepts, but also completely different meanings and properties of the objective world, which explains their different manifestations in language. The linguistic picture of the world influences people and forms their linguistic consciousness, and with them their cultural and national identity.  For each culture, the "wedding" ceremony is a special traditional ritual. Thus, the linguoculturological concept of "wedding" in each of the analyzed cultures has its own national -specific features, characterized by deep traditions, conditioned by philosophical and religious beliefs.  Analysis show that wedding tradition is inherent for both English And Uzbek linguocultures, however we reveled more dissimilar unique features of it rather than similar. Importance of the availability of specifically prepared wedding dishes, guests’ wishes and greetings addressed for newly-weds were found out similar feature of wedding traditions reflected in the languages.
