INTRODUCTION
KANGBOOK CO. BD. (LTD) is a well-known garments manufacturer of
Bangladesh located Sector #1, Plot # 21-23, CEPZ, Chittagong, Bangladesh. The factory is
pre-fabricated steel frame structure one storied building
KANGBOOK CO. BD. (LTD) is situated inside CEPZ. The building’s last level of
construction was done 1990. This building is used mainly for light RMG factory operations
including required offices, generator room, sewing, cutting, packing & finished goods
storage workers dining etc.
INVESTIGATION OF AS BUILT CONDITION
As-built drawing of the building available and test result of the construction
materials used during construction is not available. To carry out the detail engineering
assessment of the building in an effective way, a detail survey and is performed to
construct the as built drawing of the building. Confirmatory strength assessment
materials of concrete, re bar scanning and time of construction were also carried out.
The building is narrow-rectangular in character. Found layout drawings and present constructed floor
layout is almost similar. The physical parameter and use of floor described below.

Width: The average width of the building found 76,248 mm.
