The document provides instructions for a first grade art project to make a paper tree. Students will make a tree trunk by gluing a handprint cutout onto brown construction paper. Gluesticks
Scissors
Markers
Construction Paper

3. Step 1
Name on back of Paper
Mr. Nortman

4. Step 2
Make a tree trunk!
First, take a sheet of brown
construction paper

5. Step 3
Then, trace your hand with
a black marker

6. Step 4
Cut out your hand shape

7. Step 5
Glue your hand shape on to your paper

8. Step 6
Now you will make leaves!
First, pick out 3 different colored pieces of construction paper

9. Step 7
Draw a large circle on one piece,
A medium circle on another piece,
And a small circle on the last piece

10. Step 8
Cut out the circles

11. Step 9
Glue the circles on top of each other

12. Step 10
Then glue on to your tree trunk!

13. Step 11
Now take 3 different color pieces of
construction paper.

14. Step 12
Draw a large circle on one piece,
A medium circle on another piece,
And a small circle on the last piece

15. Step 13
Cut out the circles

16. Step 14
Glue the circles on top of each other

17. Step 15
Then glue on to your tree trunk!

18. Step 16 tree is full
Keep making leaves until your
and colorful!
