1. Background/origin
• Their ancestors come from
Afghanistan Kabul,During
proxy war they were
settled in south
Waziristan,then their
families come to Karachi.
3. Dress patterns.
• Their girls and women wears
heavy “froks and trousers” and
the men wears Shalwar
qameez.When the women of
Kabuli go outside they wears
shuttle cock “Burqa” and the men
wear “Patka” on their head.
5. Food and their hospitability.
• Kabuli are fond of meat.Because of
harsh/cold weather conditions,they eat roast
meat and they preserved meat in salt..
• The Kabulis are very hospitable by
nature,their generousity to their guests is
well known.They will protect a visitor or a
person whom they have given refuge,even at
the cost of their own lives..
6. Festivals.
• Their Festivals are simliar to us.In eid days they
celebrate eid by perform their cultural
dance,peoples from their community come
together in a road side or ground where they
dances in a drum beat and folk songs they
attend fairs and old ones sits together and
express their joy thoroughly.Their
elders,younger and children show their
enjoyment by participation,In special group
dance they waves colorful hand kerchief and
moving in an orbit.
7. Livelihood patterns.
• The kabuli lives together in a joined family
system mostly the girls of kabuli are not
well educated their houses are large and
broad,consist of several rooms they built
separate rooms for boys,girls and guests,the
mens are very strict,they don’t allow their
women to go outside without their
permission even for education. They marry
their girls in early life.
8. Source of income.
• They earn money by selling
goods,dry fruits,mats,digs land
and truck drivers.
• They also works in field.
• Educated men in their community
serve their nation in armed
forces.
9. Wedding events.
• The wedding events of Kabuli's is unique. The
decission are taken by their parents.
• The different thing is that,at the time of barat
dulha doesn’t go with barat,his parents come
to the house of dulhan and pick her.
• In kabulis community there is no tradition of
valima wedding is simple,after marriage
whenever dulha come to dulhan house seven
kinds of delicious food is prepare for him.
10. “Celebrations of boy birth”.
The power of tribe depend upon the
number of its men-folk. The birth of a son
is,therefore regarded as a great blessing
for the family. The proud father
announces the birth of a son by rifle shots
and the women celebrate at their homes.
11. Death.
• At the time of death the death
body brought to their homeland,
where he/she spend his/her
childhood.They burry the death
body in their native grave yard.
