4. 2014 Hiring outlook in the Middle East
• Majority of Mideast firms to increase headcount in 2014
• Six out of ten (61%) companies are expected to recruit new
employees in the first half of 2014.
• About 10 per cent, are planning to hire for more than 100
jobs, while 51% intend to recruit for less than 10 positions.
• The World Expo, Dubai is forecast to create 200,000 jobs over
the next five years, while the World Cup, Qatar is anticipated
to create another 1.5 million positions.
• 50 per cent of organisations in the Middle East and Africa
region are hiring, while only 14 per cent are letting staff go.

7. Search Point: Our Journey
• It all started with Dubai Islamic Bank’s plan to restructure. I was assigned a role to
hire 60 top management candidates. My activates were directly supervised by the
CEO and Board of Directors.
• Office Setup, Licensing, Local Sponsor, etc. were all new challenges I took on.
• Convincing my first employee to join.
• With good execution of Dubai Islamic Bank, I got my second client, Tamweel.
• Tamweel, we hired the entire management team and also wrote their HR Manual.
Working directly with the CEO.
• We were riding on the wave of the Dubai economic boom till 2009.
• 2009-2011 Banks in UAE were laying off thousands of people after collapse of
Lehman Brothers.
• During these challenging times we managed to keep the company profitable by
virtue of expanding into Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Diversification in our client portfolio, commitment to the industry
and specialized skills have proven to be successful strategies.
