This document provides junior students with information about starting the college search and application process. It outlines upcoming college visit and fair dates, requirements for trips, ACT test dates and registration deadlines, how to request transcripts, navigating college websites, and additional activities like clubs and community service to engage in. Students are encouraged to visit college websites to learn application requirements and timelines.

Requirements to attend trip listed below each trip.
 Permission slips are required and will be available in the Career Center
two weeks before each event.
 Students must bring money to purchase lunch or bring own lunch.
 Space is limited and available on a “first come, first served” basis. GPA,
ACT and discipline will be taken into consideration in creating list of
students attending trip.
 List will be posted on Mrs. Higgins’ door 3 days before each trip, sent out
on Remind and emailed to the faculty.

• Obtain from Mrs. Daniels at front desk in CC or your counselor

8. Submitting ACT Scores
• You must submit official test scores.
• While we do have an ACT label when you send
your scores to us, that is not an official score.
• If you did not include the school on the list
when you signed up to take the test, you may
pay a fee to have your score sent to additional
schools. This is called an Additional Score
Report. You will do this from your account at
www.actstudent.org.

So, What Can I Do?
• Visit the website of EVERY college you are
considering applying to.
• Go to the admission page or click on
“prospective students”.
• Find out the steps involved in their admission
& scholarship application process.
• See what you are working toward.
• Set goals!!!

16. Requesting Transcripts
• Generally, not until you apply (next summer or fall of your
senior year.
• Transcripts should be requested two weeks in advance on
www.parchment.com by YOU, the student.
• No phone calls or email requests.
• A request sent by a college or Common App will not
suffice. YOU must request.
• When it says it must be “official” (sent by the school).
• “Unofficial”- you can print from iNow Home.
• Free until you graduate!
• Mrs. Dozier, registrar, handles all transcript requests.
