Janna Stevens completed a placement with the Ouse & Adur Rivers Trust (OART) analyzing a large dataset of invertebrate monitoring collected over 10 years. She made good progress analyzing the data and producing a report within the short timeframe. Janna also took the initiative to learn the field collection methods firsthand. She sought advice from OART and university staff to ensure her analysis approach was correct. While more could have been done, the report opened doors for further analysis and standardized future data collection methods. OART found Janna to be a pleasure to work with and are hopeful for continued assistance analyzing the data.

This placement aligned well with her research dissertation focused on freshwater systems. During the placement, she gained hands-on experience applying her statistical analysis skills to real-world data and projects. She also improved her confidence in statistical analysis and learned how to better justify and deliver results. Ruth feels the placement experience enhanced her future career prospects by providing relevant work experience, references, and insights into applying her academic learning outside of the university setting.

Anand Diagnostic Laboratory in Bengaluru, India has become the first lab in India to adopt the complete Roche Digital Pathology portfolio to provide better diagnostic insights for physicians and their patients. They utilize this technology for routing reporting, enhanced quality assurance and pathologist education. PROGRESS @ HSE
PROGRESS is a diagnostic tool that has been developed over 10 years working with 90 schools to assess a school's learning culture from the perspectives of staff, students, and parents. Several Whole Education schools have committed to trialing PROGRESS to see how it can help schools deliver a Whole Education approach. The trial will involve schools using PROGRESS Exploration freely this year and providing data that will be used to shorten the student survey. Schools in the trial will have opportunities to connect with each other and the PROGRESS team through webinars and workshops. Technical support is available through the PROGRESS website and specific contacts.

This is the 11th article in a series from the Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s Center for
the Advancement of Evidence-Based Practice. Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a problem-solving approach to the delivery
of health care that integrates the best evidence from studies and patient care data with clinician expertise and patient pref-
erences and values. When delivered in a context of caring and in a supportive organizational culture, the highest quality
of care and best patient outcomes can be achieved.
The purpose of this series has been to give nurses the knowledge and skills they need to implement EBP consistently, one

In the previous article in this series, Carlos A., Rebecca R., and Chen M. completed the
unit-based pilot phase of the
rapid response team (RRT) roll-
out. They found that the RRT
worked well, and they are now
ready to evaluate its impact on
their chosen outcomes. The hos-

had agreed upon the following
outcomes: code rates outside the
ICU (CRO), unplanned ICU ad-
missions (UICUA), and hospital-

Project-based learning
The fact that learning is achieved through a number of ways best explains why different methods are tested in order to know the best method that can be applied. Project-based learning is thought to be a solution used to improve students’ state assessment scores when relating to the Common Core State Standards especially in comprehending non-fiction text. However, this method has to be tested in order to be recommended.
Purpose of the study
This study is meant to get the best data collection tool that can be used in a research. Before making any decision on what learning and teaching method to be used in teaching non-fiction texts, it is important to understand how each method works and how it can be used to improve learning. In order to be sure about how a method works, one needs to experiment or collect data that will be used as a base for making conclusions (Eodice, Geller, & Lerner, 2017). The purpose of this study is thus to provide the best data collection tool to be used in getting information that can be used in making viable conclusions.
The research question is; Will the inclusion of project-based learning improve student application of comprehending non-fiction text at a high depth of knowledge level?
Data collection
The researcher will use a number of data collection tools in order to recommend this learning method. The data needed should be quantitative so as to give the researcher the way forward to make a decision. One of the data collection tools to be used is the pre-test and post-tests. This is a type of experiment that will use two groups; where one group is given a treatment while the other group is left to be the control group.
In this sort of experiment, the researcher will collect a random number of people from the community who can be able to read and write. The people will be divided into two groups, the test group, and the control group. The conditions for the test will be set and the treatment applied to the test group. The control group will not be given treatment and after a given period of time, the researcher will collect the results. The results will measure ow the treatment affected the group as differentiated by the control group. The result from the group will be recorded exactly depending on the number of people who participated and how the experiment affected each one of them. This can enable the researcher to know whether the method can be used to improve student assessment.
Another data collection tool that can be used is interviewing (Phillips & Stawarski, 2016). The researcher can organize for short and structured interviews. The interviews should have a given number of people and the result expected sh.

Project-based learning
The fact that learning is achieved through a number of ways best explains why different methods are tested in order to know the best method that can be applied. Project-based learning is thought to be a solution used to improve students’ state assessment scores when relating to the Common Core State Standards especially in comprehending non-fiction text. However, this method has to be tested in order to be recommended.
Purpose of the study
This study is meant to get the best data collection tool that can be used in a research. Before making any decision on what learning and teaching method to be used in teaching non-fiction texts, it is important to understand how each method works and how it can be used to improve learning. In order to be sure about how a method works, one needs to experiment or collect data that will be used as a base for making conclusions (Eodice, Geller, & Lerner, 2017). The purpose of this study is thus to provide the best data collection tool to be used in getting information that can be used in making viable conclusions.
The research question is; Will the inclusion of project-based learning improve student application of comprehending non-fiction text at a high depth of knowledge level?
Data collection
The researcher will use a number of data collection tools in order to recommend this learning method. The data needed should be quantitative so as to give the researcher the way forward to make a decision. One of the data collection tools to be used is the pre-test and post-tests. This is a type of experiment that will use two groups; where one group is given a treatment while the other group is left to be the control group.
In this sort of experiment, the researcher will collect a random number of people from the community who can be able to read and write. The people will be divided into two groups, the test group, and the control group. The conditions for the test will be set and the treatment applied to the test group. The control group will not be given treatment and after a given period of time, the researcher will collect the results. The results will measure ow the treatment affected the group as differentiated by the control group. The result from the group will be recorded exactly depending on the number of people who participated and how the experiment affected each one of them. This can enable the researcher to know whether the method can be used to improve student assessment.
Another data collection tool that can be used is interviewing (Phillips & Stawarski, 2016). The researcher can organize for short and structured interviews. The interviews should have a given number of people and the result expected sh.

2. WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
This workshop is a customized program that provides researchers practical approach and hands-on experience on using the time series analysis in the R environment. The theory and mathematic of time series will be minimum to allow more participants to follow this program. Upon completion, the participant will have a clear understand on how to prepare the data for time series analysis in R, decompose the data into trend and seasonal cycle, and predict the possible outcome based on the historical time series data.
Participant to this workshop only require basic statistical understanding, basic computing skills and no prior knowledge in R and Time Series Analysis.

Ouse & Adur Rivers Trust University of Brighton Green Growth Platform Environment Placement Programme Janna Stevens Firstly, I commend Janna or her willingness to investigate a large, unmanaged, data set on invertebrate monitoring which has been collected by OART over the past 10 years. This is a mammoth undertaking in a short placement and I am delighted with the progress and outputs which Janna made with on our behlaf. Working with OART on this type of placement requires excellent time management and self motivation to self-study in order to gather the information required to undertake the correct statistical analysis and interpret the results into a concise report. Janna not only analysed the data set given but also found the time to go out in the field and learn, first hand, the methodological approach to collecting the data in the first place. I must also commend Janna on seeking advice, not only from OART but also from relevant staff at UoB in order to ensure that her approach was correct. Janna asked when she was unsure and always turned up at meetings on time and took on board suggestions and comments made regarding her approach. Whilst any output from this type of study could always contain more information and a greater level of analyses, in the timeframe that was allowed, combined with the “messy” nature of the data I am happy with the final report and what it shows. This initial investigation and the subsequent report have opened the door to much more comprehensive analysis of the data which is only possible after this exploratory period. It has been a pleasure to work with Janna and I am hopeful that she can continue to assist OART in the analysis of the data and standardising our methodological approach to ensure future data analyses is easier/quicker. Whilst OART are a difficult organisation to undertake placements with due to our size and organisational structure we are always pleased to assist students in work placements. The approach of the GGP has always been very accommodating to our set up and whilst offering three placements can prove difficult, in this year the results have been really pleasing. We would have no hesitation in being involved in the Environment Work Placement scheme in the future.
