Moshing is a practice of dancing violently at concerts and festivals. It involves intentionally colliding with other concertgoers by pushing, shoving, jumping, and crowd surfing. While moshing looks fun, it can result in injuries with over 10,000 injuries reported in the last decade. There are techniques like circle pits and walls of death where the crowd runs or pushes into each other. Unfortunately, moshing has also led to some deaths at concerts due to crowd crushing and lack of oxygen. Event organizers now implement safety barriers and medical support to try and prevent injuries and deaths from moshing.

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
Â
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Â
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navyâs DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATOâs (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen

My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

2. It was just this year that I participated in my first act of Moshing. Now it was while I was in the depths of the Mosh pit being stood on, elbowed, lifted off my feet and just generally having a âepicâ time I started to think âWhat is it with Moshing? Who are these Moshers?â. It was then that I decided to do some research on Moshing.
3. Moshing is a practice traditionally done at concerts and festivals such as:
4. Moshing is the way of festivals and Looks pretty fun too when you see it in adverts like this: (Youtube, 2011)
5. Definitions of Moshing There is no formal definition of Moshing but there are a number of well recognised definitions on the internet which are: Dance to rock music in a violent manner involving jumping up and down and deliberately colliding with other dancers (Wikipedia, 2011)
6. Definitions of Moshing 2. Dangerous genre of dancing related to heavy metal/rock music. Usually done in crowded areas by pushing, shoving and jumping. (Urban Dictionary, 2011)
7. Definitions of Moshion 3. The ultimate way to show your love for your loud, pounding music taste. (Urban Dictionary, 2005)
8. The Reality The reality of Moshing is that it is a very violent form of music appreciation. There are multiple specific techniques in the Mosh Pit such as: Crowd Surfing The Circle Pit The Wall of Death The Break Down
9. Warning Next few videos contain swearing. If uncomfortable please turn off volume.
10. Crowed Surfing When a person is lifted up by the crowd and travels over head with the help of Moshers. (Youtube, 2010)
11. The Circle Pit The crowd is encouraged to run fast in a circle, whilst Mosh dancing. People are at random pulled in and must start running or risk being run over. (Youtube, 2007)
12. Wall of Death When the crowd splits and runs fast at each other when the singer of the band indicates or during the bridge of a song. (Youtube, 2009)
13. The Breakdown A key part of the song where the crowd just goes insane.
14. Injuries are a common occurrence in Mosh pits. Crowd Management estimates that over 10 000 people have received injuries being in or around Mosh pits within the last decade. (Friedman, 2008)
15. Etiquette Amongst all this violence there is, surprisingly, an unspoken code of etiquette to be followed. This code is as follows(Adragna): You must a like the band playing Do not participate in âextremeâ dancing while in Mosh pit Help out fellow Mosher (If they have fallen down help them back up) Do not start deliberate fights outside of Mosh techniques
16. Mosh Fatalities Despite the unsaid rules of Moshing fatalities have occurred. In 2001 at Sydneyâs Big Day Out festival Jessica Michalik died due to Hypoxic Encephalopathy a result of being crushed in a Mosh pit(Wei, 2002). This is not an isolated incident. Its been recorded that nine people have died due to Mosh pits between 1994 and 2006(Friedman, 2008).
17. Picture references It was Jessicaâs death that forced crowed safety to increase the security for the benefits of the crowed. For example Big Day Out implemented a primary barrier system and upped their focus on rescue efforts. So now every one, myself included, can be a happy and (relatively) safe Mosher.
