Johnny
Diane & Kaitlyn
The Behavior
• Johnny exhibits self-injurious behavior regularly at his
school. Johnny is in a 12:1:1. The teacher currently
enforces a behavior plan utilizing differential
reinforcement of non-SIB behavior. Once extinction of
Johnny's SIB occurred, extinction bursts involving
episodes of aggression (hitting, biting, and punching)
began to appear with a frequency of 5x per day for one
consecutive week. Aggression has not been a target
behavior prior to the implementation of a Differential
Reinforcement of Alternate Behavior in which the goal
is to replace Johnny's SIB behavior utilizing Functional
Communication Training to help him communicate.
Visual Token Board

Johnny will have a token board on him at all times during the day. He
will be praised for non aggressive behavior. He will be able to earn up
to 5 pennies. After the five pennies he will be reinforced with his
preferred reinforcer. Johnny will be able to start and restart his timer
independently. The timer will be set at 2 minuet intervals. As he
progresses and the behavior decreases the time will be increased.
Extinction
Johnny will not be able to put a penny on if he
becomes aggressive. Also if the behavior
continues it is ignored. No attention, No eye
contact. The other children will be moved to
another area or even out of the room. Once
he is calm then interaction may be made.
Immediate reinfocer for doing the right thing.
