JOHN SAX WILLIAMS
John “Sax” Williams is a woodwind specialist. He devotes his life and career to
being a professional recording artist, performer, and educator. Whether it’s in the
studio, on stage or in a classroom he is passionate about his gift.
With experience touring in the United States Army Band, Williams has
performed for multiple presidential administrations such as that of George H.W.
Bush, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter. He has performed in the United States
and abroad. In 2016 John toured with Maxwell, Mary J Blige, R. Kelley, Lalah
Hathway, Eric Benet and a host of other “A” listed artist. For 2017 John will
release a new single in collaboration with R & B crooner Raheem DeVaughn. He
is also on the Charlie Wilson, Fantasia and Johnny Gill “In It To Win It Tour”
John is a classically trained woodwind specialist who has a deep understanding of
the delicate sound elements on the stage and in the studio. John plays the
Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Oboe and Bassoon. He was educated in the
Philadelphia School system and attended the acclaimed Overbrook High School's
Music Magnet program under the direction of Dr. George Allen. His formal
training includes the Settlement School of Music under the direction of Guido
Mechaly, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Philadelphia College of Performing
Arts and Howard University's College of Fine Arts. John was a member of the
United States Army Band for several years. His love and passion of music has
also afforded him the opportunity to work with students one on one and conduct
music clinics at High Schools, Colleges and major music stores such as The
Sound Professionals, Sweetwater and Guitar Center, Inc.
John Sax Williams recently premiered his debut single release, FRIDAY
MORNING, an R&B / Smooth Jazz instrumental in the United Kingdom. His
upcoming CD: HEART FELT, includes the FRIDAY MORNING single and others
which are being co-produced by the Grammy nominated producer Herb
Middleton and the three time Emmy Award winning producer, Bill Jolly. John
attributes his musical influences to the sounds of Benny Goodman, John
Coltrane, Grover Washington Jr. and George Howard.
