3. Job Shadow InformationThe person I Job Shadowed is Dr. Mohammed Al-Mosawi. He works in Mubarak Al Kabeer Hospital. I completed my Job Shadow on 26/4/10.Dr. Mohammed Al-Mosawi’s job title is Senior Internist (Internal Medicine).

4. My VisitThe requirements and duties of an Internist Doctor are the following:a. Treating patients with any internal disease or infection. b. Attending on-call duties.c. Doing minor surgical procedures. d. Having a five to eight years of university education and about six more years to be a medical specialist.

5. During my Job Shadow…I was invited to sit in a meeting with Dr. Mohammed Al-Mosawi and his medical students.After the meeting, we made a round over some of the patients in the hospital. When the round was done I was escorted to Dr. Al-Mosawi’s office to ask some questions about my Job Shadow.

6. The HospitalOnce I entered the hospital, I was greeted by Dr. Mohammed Al-Mosawi. I was escorted to the meeting room. There Dr. Al-Mosawi was preparing a lecture for the medical students about their chosen patients.The meeting consisted of Dr. Mohammed and five medical students.The meeting was about three different patients that have different symptoms and diseases.After discussing the symptoms we went for a round to meet the patients.

7. Continuation…First, we met with a seventy-three year old man. There Dr. Al-Mosawi showed some techniques and asked each medical student to observe and apply this technique to the patient. I was able to participate and apply this technique to the patient, which was fun and exciting.Second, we met with a fifty-six year old man. There we observed another technique which was quite fascinating. That technique was called the piano.

8. Continuation…Third, we met with a thirty year old man. There we observed how to talk and examine a patient.I learned how to use the piano technique and the techniques that were used with the previous patients. The techniques that I learned are the one’s that surprised me the most, for they have been useful and easy at the same time. I learned how hard and busy being a doctor could be. I also learned that you need at least an eight year experience to be a specialist in your major.

AdvicesTo be patient and tolerant to patients, patients’ family members, and fellow coworkers and employers.To analyze and discuss a patients condition with other doctors to make certain that our results and resolutions are accurate.I really enjoyed and liked the Job Shadow, and their was nothing I disliked.I am still very much interested in being a surgeon as a job for me.

It took me ten years to be were I am now.What important skills do I need to be a doctor? You need to be an intelligent, patient, helpful, social, and passionate person .Which is better working in Kuwait or working abroad? And why? Working in Kuwait is better because you are closer to your family and your helping your own society to improve.
