This document summarizes a study conducted on job satisfaction levels of employees at AT&S India Pvt Ltd in Nanjangud, Karnataka. The study aimed to understand the determinants of job satisfaction and compare satisfaction levels between white collar and blue collar employees. A sample of 35 management staff and 65 workers were surveyed about their satisfaction with 9 factors: salary, benefits, nature of work, work environment, motivation, training, performance appraisal, career growth, and rewards. The results showed differences in satisfaction levels between white and blue collar employees for certain factors like salary, benefits, and nature of work. Overall employee dissatisfaction was highest with rewards, salary, and motivation policies while satisfaction was greatest with welfare benefits, nature of work

after performing a task. To the extent that a
person’s job fulfills his dominant needs and is
consistent with his expectations and values, the
job will be satisfying. Job satisfaction is the
combination of psychological, physiological and
environmental circumstances that cause persons
to truthfully say “I am satisfied with my job”.

The study is limited to only the management
and members of AT&S, Nanjangud.

5. Sample size :
The total number of employees at the AT&S India
Pvt.Ltd., is 550 consisting of Blue collar (members) and
White collar (both middle management and Top
management) employees. The sample size was divided
into two levels. A sample size of 35 from management
staff and 65 from worker category has been chosen.
Simple statistical techniques have been used for
analyzing the data.
