• As demand continues to climb, we can see that rents have begun to climb as well, particularly over the
last two years. Currently, the average asking rent across the Columbus industrial market stands at $3.68
per square foot, representing an increase of 1.7 percent, or $0.06, year-over-year. With a reduction in
the number of quality spaces and new developments set to hit the market by the end of the year, rates
are project to inch higher as landlords find themselves with an increasing amount of leverage. Despite
these gains, Columbus remains one of the most affordable markets in the U.S. as asking rents in metro
are roughly $1.20 below the national average.
