   The Olympic games of 1912 were celebrated in
    Stockholm, Switzerland, between the 5th of May and the 22nd
    of July. 2547 athletes from 28 countries participated.
   In the Olympic games of London in 1908 there was people
    who think that the games must be left because they didn’t
    keep the initial purpose and created more disputes than
    friendship between the participating nations, but the Olympic
    games of Stockholm demonstrated that these people was
    wrong. They were better organized games to date.
   The Stockholm Olympic stadium was built with the
    appearance of medieval castle. Its builder was the
    architect Torben Grut.
   Boxing was eliminated because in Stockholm wasn’t
    practiced.
   The International Olympic Committee wanted eliminates the
    marathon because it was very hard. The Portuguese Francisco
    Lázaro died in full career due to intense heat.
   For first time electric timing and photo finish were used with
    great success ending with the decisions polemics and the
    women could participated at the swimming events, archery
    and clay pigeon shooting.
   For first time the competitors come from the 5 continents.
   Often is considerate the biggest of all the athletes of the history.
    In these games he won the pentathlon and the decathlon with
    big margins and he established world records in both events. But
    the next year the International Olympic Committee took their
    prizes and medals to discover that he worked on a baseball team.
   70 years later all his titles returned to the Thorpe’s family
   It was the first of the great Finnish runners. In the Olympic
    games of Stockholm he won the 5000m with a new record,
    the 10000m and in each one cross-county where he also won
    a silver medal in the team event. In the 5000m he was the
    first person in run the distance in less of 15 minutes.
