1. Create a projectcategory.

requirements/versions/Epics/components(foreasytrackback)
6. Planthe sprints,execute testcasesandcomplete the sprints.
7. Release the version

2. JIRA:ProjectCreation
• Creatinga ProjectinJIRA isa simple task.
• Justclickon Create Projectunder“Projects”tab.User with
appropriate permissiononlywill be able tocreate anew project.
• From the nextwindow,selectthe desiredprojecttype andclick on
Next.
• The followingwindow givesthe brief descriptionof the project
selected;clickonSelect.
• Enter the projectname andkey;clickon Submitto complete the
projectcreationtask.

• Nowwe can add a requirementinJIRA asissue of type Epic,

• Clickon “Create”tab;select“Project”and“Issue Type”.Nextfill inthe requiredfieldsfor
that issue andclickon Create.
JIRA:Test Case
• In JIRA testcase can be createdof Issue type “Test”.
• Clickon “Create”tab;select“Project”and“Issue
Type”(Test).Nextfill inthe requiredfieldsforthat
Testcase and clickon Create.
• You can alsomap the test casesto particular
requirementusingthe “LinkedIssue”optionwhen
creatinga testissue.
• Under “LinkedIssues”,select“relatesto”.
• Under “Issue”selectthe requirementissue forwhich
youwant to map this testcase to.

3. JIRA:Test Cycles
• Create a Test cycle to execute testcasesinastructuredmanner.
• By defaultTestCyclescanbe addedto Adhoc test cycle to execute them
• Addthe test casesto the testcycle created.
• Clickon AddTests;inthe window next,enterthe testcase idor name to add theminto this
testcycle.
• ‘N’numberof testcase can be addedto‘N’numberof testcycles.
JIRA:Test Execution
• There are variouswayto execute atestcase in JIRA.
• Execute fromtestcycle;
• Click on the symbol “V”(1) to view all the testcase inthat testcycle.
• Clickon “E” (2), to execute the testcasesbyindividual teststeps.We canalso
• add bugfor the testcase if requiredfromhere.
• For quickexecutionof testcases;hoverthe cursorto the statusof individual test
case (3) and change the status fromthe optionthat appears.
• The test cycle alsoshowsthe statusof the testcase executionforthatcycle.
JIRA:ExecutionReport
• The executionreportforthe testcasescan be viewedfrom the “Test
Metrics” underTeststab.
• Some of the metricsusedforauto-generatedreportsare:
• TestSummaryunderTeststab also givesabrief testreport.
• We can alsogenerate customreportsandadd themin“System
Dashboard”of a projectinthe form of “Gadgets”.
