ASU President Michael Crow will receive a humanitarian award for his accomplishments and vision
as the university’s president by the Jewish National Fund.
Crow will receive the award during the annual Tree of Life Celebration, where the Tree of Life
humanitarian award is given to recognize outstanding community involvement, dedication to the
cause of American-Israeli friendship and devotion to peace and security of human life.
The award honors leaders for their achievements and innovations in industry, government and
education.
Crow will be recognized for building the Arizona-Israel relationship, creating opportunities for joint
study abroad programs and research collaboration, according to the Jewish National Fund.
Crow has represented Jewish interests on the Council of Religious Advisors, bringing kosher food to
campus and fostering a strong Jewish studies program. He has also expanded ASU’s alliance for
new joint research with the Ben Gurion University of the Negev for cybersecurity, homeland security,
nanotechnology, community medicine, remote sensing, and sustainability research.
2. The Tree of Life Celebration will also honor Ann and Ted Zinman with the coveted Golden Branch
Award. The Golden Branch is awarded to individuals in recognition of their support for Jewish
National Fund, Israel and the Community.
