Affiliated Experience –
Consortium for Pacific Arts & Culture: CPAC promoted the indigenous and contemporary arts of the
Pacific Rim in order to introduce these unique art forms to a global audience. This project brought the
work of these artists to the attention of a broader audience with exhibitions staged at the California
State Fair, the San Francisco Exposition Center, the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles, and exhibition space
in downtown Honolulu, and at the Hong Kong Convention Center. Artists were selected in Guam, the
Mariana Islands, American Samoa and Hawaii, and exhibits were presented via: Film, Arts & Crafts,
Dance, Music, and Art.
Film Festivals / Festivals –
Spare Parts Theatre – This annual Non-Profit Film Festival for High School / College Students
was part of a Performing Arts series dedicated to the benefit of funding agencies for homeless
and indigent citizens. The film festival provided education to students and opportunity for their
creative efforts.
Maui ‘Ohana Film Festival – Annual Community Film Festival that pre-dated the current Maui
Film Festival which began in 2000. The ‘Ohana festival was a family-oriented festival sponsored
by The Maui News in the early 1980’s and reflected on the life and culture of Maui.
Heartland Film Festival – This festival was founded in 1991 and it was my pleasure to work with
the President, Jeffrey Sparks at that time in promoting the annual event and hosting several of
the galas associated with the festival at what was then Conseco Fieldhouse, now Bankers Life
Fieldhouse.
Lollapalooza – I worked in promotions and operations of this annual Chicago music festival featuring
popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, and EDM bands and artists, dance and comedy
performances and craft booths.
Chicago Jazz Festival – I was proud to be a part of this artistically creative favorite Labor Day
Weekend tradition in Chicago. We promoted awareness and appreciation for all forms of jazz
through free, quality live musical performance beginning in 1979, and the festival continues to
showcase Chicago’s vast jazz talent alongside national and international artists to encourage
and educate a jazz audience of all ages.
