The BD Bard-Parker protected disposable scalpel with quality stainless-steel blades and safety engineering helps deliver performance without compromising technique. Atraumatic needles are recommended for the following reasons: • Research has shown that atraumatic needles reduce post lumbar puncture headache (PLPH) in lumbar puncture and myelogram patients.5 • The American Academy of Neurology recommends atraumatic needles for lumbar puncture procedures vs. traditional cutting needles.6 • The pencil-point configuration in the BD Whitacre needle is designed to spread dura fibers, helping minimize cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) loss and incidence of PLPH.     Safe-T PLUS traysmeet your diagnostic and therapeutic procedure needs with these safety components: Medication labels and fine-tip markers work on syringes, medication cups or basins to help identify medications in the sterile field. The labels are waterproof. The BD SafetyGlide needle helps promote fast and easy, single-handed needle shielding with BD Activation-Assist™ technology. It can help prevent needlestick injuries by allowing you to easily and securely shield the needle tip immediately after injection. The BD Bard-Parker protected disposable scalpel with quality stainless-steel blades and safety engineering helps deliver performance without compromising technique. The scalpels are designed with the handling and feel that clinicians prefer, with simple one-handed activation and protection before and after use. Filter Straw particulate matter filter helps enable easy access to medication contained in an ampoule while filtering out glass particles that may have entered during opening. Point-Lok device, NeedleVise® device and needle foam stop help promote sharps safety. ChloraPrep patient preoperative skin preparation is a one-step, broad spectrum antiseptic in a single-use sterile applicator. Together, the 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG)/ 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) formulation and single-use applicator help reduce micro-organisms on the skin. The Hi-Lite Orange tint helps provide a visual marker of the prepped site. 2
