4. So, what does this rich, Greek warrior have in common with an 18 year-old boy from the slums? While comparing Odysseus and Jamal, there were a few connections that I noticed:Both Odysseus and Jamal had to travel abroad before returning to their true loves.Both had to use their wits to solve problems.

5. Call to AdventureWhen Jamal calls to be on the show “WhoWants to Be a Millionaire?”. He gets acceptedand prepares to go on the show.

6. Call to adventure:Odysseus was still stranded on the Island ofCalypso when Calypso received word that Zeushad declared war on him. He was to be releasedfrom the island.

7. Helper/AmuletHis main helper is his brother Salim, althoughSalim betrays him several times. His otherhelpers are the people in the game showaudience. He has several people who pretend tohelp him but really betray him.

15. FlightJamal answered the question correctly, eventhough the game show host fed him an incorrectanswer. The host accused Jamal of cheating andhe was arrested and beaten until he could provehimself innocent. After that, he returned to theshow.

16. FlightOdysseus goes to his father’s farm in orderto prove his identity.

17. ReturnJamal answered the final question correctly andhad to return to his “average” life. I guess youcould not really call it average, though. Now hehad 20 million rupees.
