10. Type of file obtained
• When you scan with Itero or a dental cast scanner , you
get an STL file
• STL means stereolithographic file.
• STL are widely used for:
- rapid prototyping
- computer-aided manufacturing. (CAD-CAM)
- STL files describe only the surface geometry of a three
dimensional object without any representation of color,
texture or other common CAD model attributes. (wikipedia)
