Background 1:
Cybercrime means crimes done using
computers, phones, or the internet. In India,
these crimes have grown very fast. According
to the NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau),
cybercrime cases increased from 52,000 in
2021 to over 86,000 in 2023. These include
online fraud, hacking, phishing, identity theft,
and even ransomware attacks
INTRODUCTION TO
CYBER SECURITY:
"Cyber Security" or information
technology "security" are the
techniques of protecting
computers , networks , programs
and data from unauthorised
access or attacks that are aimed
for exploitation.
CHALLENGES OF CYBER
SECURITY:
NETWORK SECURITY:
It is consists practises adopted to prevent and
monitor unauthorised access and denial of a
computer network.
APPLICATION SECURITY:
Most of the application security issues are caused
due to poor coding practices which lead to poor
application code.
DATA SECURITY:
Data security means protecting digital data , such as
those in database , from unauthorised access.
TYPES OF CYBER

THREATS:
PHISHING:
It is practices to sending
spyware within link and any
other way for stealing sensitive
data like credit card and login
information.
RANSOMWARE:
It is a type of malicious
software . It is designed to
export money by blocking
access to file or the computer
system until the ransom is paid.
PREVENTION METHODS AGAINST CYBER
CRIMES:
Use
Use Strong, Unique
Passwords: Create complex
passphrases of at least 15
characters, including a mix
of letters, numbers, and
symbols. Avoid using the
same password across
multiple accounts.
Update
Update Software Regularly:
Keep operating systems,
applications, and security
software updated to patch
vulnerabilities.
Use
Antivirus & Firewall: Use
reputable antivirus
software and keep it
updated; a firewall prevents
unauthorized access.
