IPS Group Services was called in by Cofely Projects via Epic Pipework to assist with repairs to damaged pipework at the Museum of London. On a weekend, they froze a 150mm heating main in a confined underground space, as the ambient temperature was still too high on Saturday morning to complete the freeze after the pumps and boiler had been shut down on Friday night. All contractors agreed to return on Sunday to successfully complete the project and minimize disruption to the museum galleries. Any further delays could have led to significant problems from drops in room temperatures causing artifacts to decay or further damage from old pipework cooling and leaking.
