2. INT.BEDROOM-MORNING
FADE IN FROM
BLACK:
Michael Hanson is sleeping in bed. Michael’s time machine
themed alarm clock starts going off reading “7:30 AM”. He
reaches over attempting to turn it off but accidently knocks
it off the shelf. The alarm clock hits the floor and is
destroyed. Michael gets out of bed and calls to his maid to
clean the mess.
MICHAEL
(Clapping his hands)
Sandra! Come clean this mess.
He leaves the room.
ZOOM IN ON THE BROKEN CLOCK.
EXT.DRIVEWAY-MORNING
Michael, now dressed, is walking out to his car. He gets in
the car and puts Iron Maiden’s Somewhere In Time CD in his CD
player and drives off.
AS HE DRIVES OUT HIS LICENSE PLATE READING “NO TIM3” IS SEEN.
EXT.MOUNTAINTOP-MORNING
Michael is driving towards a gate. He stops by the speaker.
SPEAKER WOMAN
Greetings, may I have the password
for entrance?
MICHAEL
The future has yet to be
discovered.
SPEAKER WOMAN
Welcome Mr. Hanson.
The gate opens in front of Michael and he drives through. It
leads to a dirt road. At the end there’s a secluded
laboratory. Michael drives up and parks up front. He gets out
of the car and starts walking toward the entrance.

3. INT.LABORATORY-MORNING
Michael pulls a key out of his pocket and unlocks the door.
He enters the laboratory. Switching on all the lights reveal
all of Michael’s work and past machines.
MICHAEL
Jeez is it really that difficult to
show up on time Helga? Oh well, one
of these days.
He walks over to a table with a nearly completed time travel
device sitting on it. He grabs the device and a screwdriver
and starts working on it. He starts tightening a screw when
the device slips out of his hands, falling to the floor. The
device starts to a glow a vibrant blue and starts emitting a
deafening whine.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Worried)
Oh this can’t be good.
In a brilliant flash of light, Michael is sent back in time
to Medieval Europe. After Michael is sent back, Helga walks
inside the laboratory.
HELGA
(Confused)
Mr. Hanson? Hmm he must be on his
bathroom break.
She walks over and notices a smoking ring in the center of
the floor.
HELGA (CONT’D)
This is no bathroom break, I pray
for you Mr. Hanson.
EXT.DIRTROAD-MORNING
A ball of light appears and Michael is dropped out of it onto
a dirt road with a hard thud. He grunts as he gets up.
Michael looks down at the now smoking time travel device. He
picks it up trying to make it work.
MICHAEL
(Desperately)
Come on ol’ blue! Work for me!
He tries pushing the button and resetting the machine.

4. MICHAEL (CONT’D)
Oh it’s no use! I’m not going
anywhere with this infernal
contraption!
He drops the broken machine to the ground and kicks it away.
Michael reaches into his pocket to find that his cell phone
is no longer working either.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(To himself)
Okay, what did that guy on the
survivor show always talk about? I
have to find civilization. There’s
a road here. So all I have to do is
follow it.
Michael follows the road in search of civilization.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(sarcastically)
If I have to eat a raw beetle or
something, I’m going to be very
upset!
EXT.DIRTROAD-NOON
After walking along the road for maybe an hour, Michael is
greeted by a man and woman in a horse drawn buggy.
GEORGE
Hello young traveler! I am George
and this is my beautiful wife
Meredith.
MICHAEL
Nice to meet both of you.
GEORGE
Where to, traveler?
MICHAEL
Not sure. I’m not from around these
parts.
MEREDITH
Well we’re on our way to the city.
Care for a ride up?
MICHAEL
(ecstatic)
Yes that would be fantastic! Thank
you so much!

5. Michael jumps in the buggy.
GEORGE
You got a name traveler?
MICHAEL
Yeah, I’m Michael.
GEORGE
Well Michael, looks like thou art
off to a very prestigious city!
MICHAEL
Fantastic. I’m glad to get out.
MEREDITH
We’re going on vacation into the
city. Heaven knows we couldn’t live
there!
MICHAEL
(Curious)
Why’s that?
MEREDITH
We haven’t got the money to live
the carefree life, but from time to
time (she looks towards George) we
like to think we do.
GEORGE
That’s right my sweet.
MEREDITH
Someone who does live the carefree
life on the other hand is the King.
Reginald Hanson.
Michael looks around suspiciously and says under his breath.
MICHAEL
Hanson? (out loud) Well I’ve had a
really long day, I think I’ll try
to take a nap.
GEORGE
Sure thing Michael we’ll make sure
to wake thee upon our arrival.
MICHAEL
Thanks again guys.

6. Michael slowly closes his eyes and falls asleep.
FADE TO BLACK:
EXT.DREAM-UNKNOWN
FADE IN:
Michael is sleeping in a field. He slowly wakes up. He looks
around but all he can see is an empty field. He calls out.
MICHAEL
(Slightly Afraid)
Hello? Is anyone there?
A gust of wind starts developing around Michael. The wind
pushes him to the ground. Michael looks up to see a vision of
George and Meredith in front of him.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
George! Meredith! What’s going on?
George and Meredith start to talk but they are silent. Only
their mouths are moving. Michael is getting very nervous as
the visions start to fade away.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Scared)
This can’t be real, this just can’t
be real.
A vision of Helga appears. She is standing motionless with a
straight face. Michael stands up.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Angry)
Talk to me Helga! You have to talk
to me!
Michael tries to grab the vision. As soon as his hands touch
the vision she fades away leaving only a small portion in his
hands before fading entirely. Michael starts to clench his
fists in fear and anger. He is starting to cry. Michael is
looking down at the ground when upon looking up he sees a
woman and a young boy around 3 years old. The boy is crying.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Shocked and Saddened)
No, anyone but them. Not my wife
and my son!

7. The woman picks up the little boy and starts to walk away.
Michael starts to cry violently while reaching his hand out
to the woman.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Emotionally yelling)
Melanie! Matthew! Please!
Michael lowers his hand as the woman and boy start to fade
away. He starts to break down.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
Please.
Michael lays motionless as a bright red light starts to emit
around him. He looks and is blinded by the intense red light.
CUT TO:
EXT.KINGDOM-NOON
MEREDITH
Wake up sleepy head!
Michael wakes up in shock and panic.
GEORGE
How art thou son? It appeared thou
were facing a mighty struggle
during thy slumber.
MICHAEL
It was just a nightmare honestly I
am quite all right.
GEORGE
Well it’s a good thing that thou
art awake, we’ve just arrived.
Michael jumps off the buggy.
MICHAEL
I have to give my gratitude to
thee. You’ve made me a happy
traveler. Aren’t you two coming
along as well?
GEORGE
(Suspiciously)
Erm, well, Meredith and I have
some.
He looks back to Meredith.

8. GEORGE (CONT’D)
Catching up to do.
He looks back to Michael.
GEORGE (CONT’D)
Now, for thee. I wish upon thee a
safe journey young traveler.
MICHAEL
Thanks again for everything and the
best of luck to both of you.
Michael waves to George and Meredith as they ride away. After
they are both out of sight Michael walks through the front
gates of the Hanson Kingdom. Michael notices the sign at the
main entrance.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
Hmm Hanson? Things are starting to
look better already.
After a little bit of walking and looking around, Michael is
stopped dead in his tracks when he sees a peasant arguing
with an executioner.
EXECUTIONER
That’s the third time this month
thou insolent peasant! Either thou
pay thy rent with coin or with thy
head!
PEASANT
(Pleading)
No please! I swear I’ll have it
within a fortnight!
The executioner pulls back his giant axe.
EXECUTIONER
(Laughing)
I was hoping you’d say that!
Michael is horrified and runs away with the sound of a
decapitation in the background.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:

9. EXT.CASTLE-NIGHT
It’s now late at night and Michael is roaming the streets. He
stumbles upon a castle and sees the king standing out on a
balcony.
REGINALD
Ah, what a beautiful night.
Michael notices that the king looks nearly identical to
himself. Michael starts devising a plan.
MICHAEL
(To himself)
I don’t want to live this life. I
don’t want to end up like that guy
back there.
He looks up to the King and starts developing an evil grin.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
Looks like it’s time for a shift in
power!
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT.HOME-MORNING
While walking down the road, Michael notices a family leaving
their home.
FATHER
Come along, we shan't be late!
The family leaves and Michael sneaks behind the house. He
manages to get inside through a window. After some looking
around, Michael finds and steals some dark clothing and a
knife. He leaves the house and finds a secluded spot to stay
at until nightfall.
INT.CASTLE-NIGHT
Michael approaches the castle with a full moon behind him.
MICHAEL
Looks like it’s do or die!
Michael starts towards the main entrance and notices a set of
guards who are whispering amongst each other.

10. GUARD #1
Hast thou been invited to the royal
ball in upper kingdom?
GUARD #2
(Angry)
No! That salty wench of a princess
hastn’d invited me!
GUARD #1
Thou art simply heart broken, for
my fare maiden hast chosen me over
thy jesting fool.
GUARD #2
Thou art the fool, thou peasant!
The guards start fighting and Michael managed to sneak past
them. He starts to make a break down the hallway. Michael
reaches the door, he takes a deep breath and enters.
INT.KING’S QUARTERS-NIGHT
Michael sneaks up on the king and holds him at knife-point.
MICHAEL
Got you! Now listen to me very
carefully. I’m a relative of yours
and I come from a time ahead of
ours. If you allow me to take
control of your kingdom as king,
you will live.
REGINALD
Wait! If I go then so does our
entire bloodline! Don’t do this you
fool!
MICHAEL
What would you expect me to do?
Live my life as a peasant?
REGINALD
You said you are from a time ahead
of ours correct?
MICHAEL
Yeah, what are you going on about?

11. REGINALD
A long time ago I encountered a
sorcerous who gave me a magical
gemstone. That when used may
possess the power of time travel.
MICHAEL
This doesn’t make any sense.
REGINALD
We haven’t got the time it’s now or
never!
MICHAEL
Ugh! Alright just hand me the
blasted thing!
Reginald hands Michael the gemstone just as guards start to
rush in the room.
MICHAEL (CONT’D)
(Scared)
This thing better work!
Just before the guards reach him, Michael is taken forward in
time in a whirl of blinding red light.
INT.LABORATORY-NIGHT
A red ball of light appears in a gust of wind inside
Michael’s laboratory blowing everything around. Michael is
now back in current day Europe and is collapsed on the floor.
Helga notices him and comes running in to aid Michael.
HELGA
(Shocked)
Mr. Hanson! Mr. Hanson! Please tell
me you’re all right!
After being helped up, Michael takes what remains of his time
travel device and throws it in the trash.
HELGA (CONT’D)
What are you doing Mr. Hanson?
MICHAEL
I’ve been where you couldn’t
believe. I’ll let those suckers in
the future deal with time travel.
I’m taking a vacation.
FADE TO BLACK.
