Holy writings *The holy text of Islam is the Koran *The Koran includes the Torah(Judaism) and the Old and New Testament (Christianity)
Rituals & rites of passage *The 5 pillars are the rites of passage *Hajj *Sawm *Shahada *Zakat *Salat
Stories of origin *One of the stories is the story of Muhammad *Muhammad is a prophit of God in the Koran *He was born in Mecca and was visited by an angel named Gabriel and he became a great figure and Islam was born
Holy places & places of worship *A Muslim’s place of worship is called a Mosque. *It’s like a church or temple but for Muslim’s. *A holy place of Islam is the Ka’bah which is located in the city of Mecca
Symbols and objects *A minaret which is part of a mosque is important because it reaches to God. *Another holy object is a minbar and it is where the leader of prayer stands at a mosque
Celebrations & holidays *One of the big holidays of Islam is Eidal-Fitr. It concludes the month of Ramadan which you fast for a month. *The other big holiday is Eidal-Adha which concludes the pilgramage to Mecca also known as the Hajj
Core beliefs *Islam’s core beliefs are called the 5 Pillars  *Shahada is saying once a day there is no god but Allah *Zakat is giving money to charity *Sawm is fasting during the month of Ramadan *Salat is praying 5 times a day *Hajj is a pilgramge to Mecca
