The Shawnee lived in villages located in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, though today they live primarily in Oklahoma. Their villages typically contained wigwams for housing as well as a larger council house. Daily life involved religious dances to honor spirits, hunting in small groups using bows and spears, and a diet consisting of meat from deer and bear as well as crops like maize and beans. Famous Shawnee leaders included Chief Tecumseh and Chief Cornstalk.
