The document discusses whether a company is ready to implement an enterprise social network. It provides a brief test for companies to determine their readiness, focusing on employee expectations around communication and involvement, leadership support for transparency and two-way communication, and ensuring communication is a priority rather than just a tool. If companies can identify with these principles, an enterprise social network may help continue improving communication.

In internal communication, the current revolution that we
live in has caught us off guard. No sooner has
consolidation within the strategic priorities of businesses
when it claims its use through new platforms, such as
enterprise social networks.
The qualitative jump that these tools offer seem
indisputable, but it is advisable not to be dazzled by its
shine and make a prior analysis about whether or not our
company is ready to make the jump.
If we have a well designed strategy, the support of leadership and the necessary
attitude and motivation is the moment.

To be the first to receive important news that affects them
That they are listened to
That they are consulted
That their suggestions are taken into account
What degree of satisfaction would you say employees have of your company with respect to these
matters?

The benefits are real and tangible. The companies that best manage and obtain more benefits,
according to a study by the consulting firm Watson Wyatt, are also those who:
Support their employees to understand business, their values and their culture
Better explain changes
Offer communication channels (two directions) and listen to what employees say
If you can identify with these principles and you want to continue improving, perhaps its time to
continue growing with an enterprise social network. If you don’t see it clearly, remember that

2. continue growing with an enterprise social network. If you don’t see it clearly, remember that
before investing in tools, it is more secure to bet on values. Because communication is basically
to be, to make and -only later- to have. If we invest in the terms, then we are talking about
something else, and not about communication.
