IOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple that runs on Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It was originally called iPhone OS but was renamed with the introduction of the iPad. Unlike Android, IOS is not licensed to other hardware manufacturers. Android is an open source operating system based on the Linux kernel that was developed by Android Inc, which was later acquired by Google. It powers many smartphones and tablets from manufacturers like Samsung, LG, and Sony. The interfaces of IOS and Android differ, with IOS focusing on simplicity and fluidity while Android allows for more customization.

IOS (iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system developed
and distributed by Apple. It was established in 2007. Unlike
Microsoft's windows phone and Google's Android, Apple
does not license iOS for installation on non-Apple hardware.
According to the special media event held by Apple on
September 12, 2012, 400 million devices had been sold by
June 2012.
It is Apple’s mobile operating system used to run the popular
iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Formerly known as
the iPhone OS, the name was changed with the introduction
of the iPad. It interprets the commands of software
applications (“apps”) and it gives those apps access to
features of the device, such as the multi-touch screen or the
storage.
4. WHAT IS ANDROID?

Android is an operating system based on the technology of Linux kernel, and
designed primarily for touch screen mobiles and devices such as smart
phones and computers. Initially developed by Android, Inc.,
which Google backed financially later bought in 2005, Android was unveiled
in 2007 along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance: a consortium
of hardware and software, and telecommunication companies devoted to
advancing open standards for mobile phones. The first android powered
phone was sold in October 2008.
Android is a software package and Linux based operating system for mobile
devices such as tablet computers and smart phones. It is developed by
Google in 2007 and later the OHA (Open Handset Alliance). Because Google
developed Android, it comes with a lot of Google app services installed right
out of the box. Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and Google Now are
all pre-installed on most Android phones.
5. INTERFACE
Android
The interface of Android is fully customizable. It enables you to use
widgets on the home screen, change the backgrounds but it entirely
depends on the OS and UI you are using. The Nexus 4 Has Android 4.3
Jellybean with the Stock Android UI whereas the Samsung Galaxy S IV
also has Android 4.3 Jellybean with the Touch Wiz UI which differs in the
looks of the lock screen and the looks of the interface. The Multitasking
feature make it a good interface to use. However, the latest Android OS,
4.3 Jellybean is only used in the 0.4% of the Android Market Share.

6. IOS
The interface of iOS is mainly for versatile, fluid and fast work. It has
no home screen. It will directly direct you to the app screen where the
apps are displayed. This reduces the customization, you can still
change the background but makes your work faster, easier & fluid.
IOS 7 made a drastic change to the entire iOS by introducing Control
Center, Multi tasking, New Notification center and many more things.
90% of iOS devices use its latest OS, the iOS7.

8. Android
Android has a vast variety of phones. Millions of phones around
the world run on Android OS. From Micromax to Samsung, LG,
Karbon, Sony, Lenovo to almost every leading mobile
companies in the world. The speed and processor varies on the
Model or Mobile used. The specifications of every different
Android device varies.
The google nexus 5 is rumoured to have a 1.9 GHz Quad Core
snapdragon 800 processor which would be pretty fast but the
OS may cause lags and hangs, nobody knows.

9. IOS
ios is a closed source operating system. It uses its own A7
Chip with 64-bit architecture and a M7 motion processor in
its latest phone, the iPhone 5S, Which is super fast without
any lags as the OS does’nt affect the speed of the phones.

11. Android
Most leading companies like Samsung, Sony & LG
use the plastic body as the cover of the phones
which makes it very light and easy to use. Black front
screen looks very beautiful in some Android devices
like the Xperia Z1, Note 3 which are using Super
AMOLED screens. However the growing problem
with these companies is that huge and bigger phones
are being launched every year.

12. IOS
After the iPhone 3GS, Every ios Phone uses an
aluminium body as the cover of the phone which
resists fingerprints but makes the phone a little
heavy. The iPhone 4S,5,5C & 5S use Retina
displays at the front screen which increases the
brightness and sharpness, can be easily seen in
sunlight.
