HOW ARE INVISIBLE BRACES MADE?
Firstly, Dr Kumar takes X-rays, photographs
and moulded dental impressions of your teeth,
then sends these off to the Align Tech lab in
Santa Clara, California. Your dental impression
is then scanned into a computer to make a
3D model of your teeth and gums. The software
simulates the movement stages of teeth
required to achieve the final result, which
Dr Kumar checks online to make sure he’s
happy with the proposed correction, before
your personalised set of aligners is made.
Align Tech laboratories then use special
thermo forming technology, to produce the set
of plastic aligners which represent each tooth
movement generated by the computer
software for your prescription.
HOW DOES THE BRACE WORK?
A series of plastic aligners are worn for two
weeks at a time. As you move from one aligner
to the next and your teeth will slowly straighten.
