What is a Filling?
A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal
function and shape. When a dentist gives you a filling, he or she first
removes the decayed tooth material, cleans the affected area, and then
fills the cleaned out cavity with a filling material.
Type of Filling?
• Gold fillings
• Amalgam (silver) fillings
• Composite (plastic) resins are matched to be the same color as your teeth

Root canal treatment
Root Canal
Deep tooth decay or other injury can cause damage to or infection of the tooth pulp. In a root
canal, or endodontic treatment, the dentist removes the damaged or infected pulp and replaces
it with a special filler, which helps maintain the remaining tooth structure.
Some indications of the need for root canal treatment may be:
•There will be facial swelling,
•Spontaneous dental pain,
•Your teeth oversensitive is starting to loosen,
•You gum appear to swell and puss around an affected teeth.
Image Shown Below shows how the root canal is treated.
Crown and bridge work
When a tooth is fractured, has a large old filling or is severely damaged by decay, your
dentist may recommend the placement of a crown, also called a cap. Crowns
strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and can improve the appearance of
your smile. Types of crowns include the full porcelain crown, the porcelain-fused-to-
metal crown and the all-metal crown.
Dental bridges have many advantages for people who are missing teeth as a result of
dental disease, fractures or injury. If you maintain good oral hygiene and see your
dentist regularly, a fixed dental bridge can last for approximately 10 years.
A dental bridge consists of dental crowns for the teeth anchoring either side of the
bridge, and a false tooth (or teeth) between them.

possibly through the jawbone.
Reasons for Tooth Extraction :
• Excessive tooth decay
• Fractured
• Broken teeth
