The report analyzes investment patterns and trends in the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) for December 2020. Local Jordanian investors were the most active and had a net positive investment of JD 1.838 million for the month. Regional investors also had a small positive investment of JD 179 thousand, while international investors had a net negative investment of JD 2.018 million. Overall, Jordanian ownership makes up 52.16% of ASE total market capitalization. [END SUMMARY]

The report aims to track investment patterns as they prevail in accordance to the trading activities associated
with the various nationality groups active in ASE.
Latest Trends:
ASE Trading
Local investors
• Bought ASE shares valued at JD 176.058 million,
while selling JD 174.219 million
• Resulting in a positive investment of JD 1.838
million. (Compared to a positive investment JD
4.775 million recorded during November 2020)
Regional Investors
• Bought shares amounting to JD 7.885 million,
opposed to selling JD 7.705 million of ASE shares
• Resulting in a positive investment JD 179.456
thousand. (Compared to a negative investment JD
1.388 million recorded during November 2020)
International investors
• Bought shares worth JD 1.963 million, and have
sold JD 3.981 million of ASE shares
• Resulting in a negative investment of JD 2.018
million. (Compared to a negative investment of JD
3.387 million shown during November 2020)
After examining the number of transactions executed during
December 2020, it was found that Jordanian investors were the
most active as they have executed 93.49% of all transactions,
followed by Palestinian investors with a share of 3.09% and
Iraqi investors with a share equaling to 1.73%.
ASE Ownership
Local investors hold 52.16% of ASE’s total market cap, while
Regional investors hold 31.19% of ASE’s total market cap,
leaving International investors with a share of 16.65%.
With reference to the top ASE nationalities according to
ownership, the Saudi Arabian ownership in ASE ranked second
after Jordanians, owning 6.47%, while British ownership came
in third place with an ownership of 5.84% of ASE market value.
