  2. We conducted a survey of the team to make sure that it was having the impact we thought. Survey: 75% participation in the survey We asked the question: How often do you attend InUnity? Because the meeting is optional for attendance and we wanted to gage how often people were choosing to attend. - 35% attend monthly, 23% attend bi-monthly, 27% attend quarterly We also asked: How do you think InUnity has made an impact on our team in the last year? - “I think InUnity has brought an entirely new level of trust to our team as a whole. We might not work directly together on a daily basis, but in those meetings we share our passions, inspirations and even fears. With that information you can only grow closer to each other.” We wanted to make sure people were finding value in the meetings so we asked: What is one of your biggest take-a ways from an InUnity meeting?- “InUnity meetings reinforce just how lucky I am to work in a place that truly and transparently values me as a person. I have experienced moments during InUnity meetings when I take a step back and see that I am truly in the right place at the right time. With kudos and compliments being regularly given face-to-face during InUnity among team members, I believe those who attend always leave feeling motivated and happy. I missed an InUnity once, and resolved to never miss one again!” Another concern that we had was around how often we should be having the meeting so we asked: How frequently do you feel InUnity should be offered to the team?- 76% - monthly, 24% - bi-monthly. This helped confirm for us that the cadence of the meeting was what the majority of the team wanted. The last question we asked was: How likely would you be to recommend a similar InUnity program, to be started among other teams? – a scale from 1-10 – 10 highest and 1 lowest , result was a 9.32 We also met with the Senior Team Members & Strategic Team Members because we noticed a drop in attendance from the leaders on our team and wanted to know why. What we found was that the meeting being held on the same day and time every month conflicted with other responsibilities some of them had, and that they wanted to attend but couldn’t because business needs were taking priority. We decided to switch off the day and time of the meeting each month now so that everyone has a chance to join. Another concern we had was around Global Teams and we wanted to make sure that each office regardless of region would be able to implement a program like this. To help us understand the other office dynamics we reached out to Kristin Lilburn the GCO Trainer for Dublin and APAC. After we covered with her how the program works we asked her thoughts on implementation. She said that she believes it would be great for every location, and that in APAC it may be better to start with having an InUnity meeting for all GCO departments to get to know each other better since there fewer employees in these offices and the departments already know each other well.
  3. Meeting Coordinator –What is this role? The Meeting Coordinator oversees the entire program. This coordinator not only schedules the meetings, books the meeting space, and lines-up the facilitators …… but also offers guidance to the facilitators to keep the core message and purpose of the meetings on point.     Why is it so critical? The selection of a Meeting Coordinator is critical because it is up to this person to keep the momentum going. The Meeting Coordinator must be passionate about the idea and concept. This is indeed critical to keeping the program running for an office. This is the genesis…the starting point for implementing an InUnity program. Selecting the individual most likely to embrace the idea and who will strive to bring unity to the team. What are the characteristics that make a great Meeting Coordinator? Passion, Commitment, truly wanting the team to grow together. Someone who is already seen by peers as helpful in building relationships. Facilitator Facilitators are 2-3 volunteers who collaborate to bring a fresh theme to each monthly meeting. This also provides the facilitators an opportunity to collaborate on planning a team meeting and then hone their presentation skills by delivering the new session. Rotating Facilitators gives everyone a chance to be involved and lead.   Everyone has the option to volunteer to lead a meeting. Every meeting has been a collaboration effort of 2-3 facilitators.

  5. InUnity Heisman Trophy Dec 2013 - Al asked Jason about an idea to award a team member who most exemplifies the meaning of “TEAM”. The goal was to let the “peers” vote and select one person on the team who consistently promotes unity. We have a “traveling trophy” that will be awarded to a new team member every 6 months, with the previous winner, participating in the next presentation.   In April 2013, the team voted and a winner was selected for this 1st semi-annual award. **of course, this is something extra the Omaha office just started. Every office/dept, with management approval, could come up with their own unique concept for an award.
