Summary
Purpose of this document is to discuss installation plan of
Intrusion Detection System at residence of the CEO of
Burj Bank, situated at Khayaban-e-Muhafiz, DHA, Karachi.
Recommended solution is Sensor and Camera based
integrated system, which offers remarkably improved
security.

As CCTV is already being installed, it will be used for intrusion detection
and alarm in combination with Infrared Beam Sensors & Infrared Curtain
Sensors.
Infrared Connectors and Cameras shall be integrated in such a way that
both systems (CCTV & Intrusion Detection) keep working independently.
Means, if one system fails, other will continue working.

Motion detection by camera
Proposed CCTV Camera can detect motion in
multiple zone within its field of view. Camera
can perform multiple actions in case of motion
detection in marked area such as:
• It can trigger alarm.
• It can switch on/off many
electrical/electronic devices i.e. lights.
• It can send snapshot to email or ftp server.
• It cans end alert to other security devices
i.e. intrusion detection system.
• It can pop up camera video on full screen for
immediate attention.

Infrared Fence (Beam Detector)
The barrier fence detector consist of a transmitter
(TX) and receiver (RX). Transmitter send
synchronized infrared beams to a receiver. When
intruder (body) cross through the beams or cut the
beams continuously, the alarm will be generated,
barrier will make alarm buzzer and alarm LED will
flash, send alarm signal to alarm system or access
control system.
• 2,4,6,8 or 10 infrared (not visible laser) beams
selectable.
• Perfect function in anti-cutting &short circuit,
and tamper & pets immunity.
• All-weather outdoor usage, totally air-proof
design.
• Anti strong light up to 50000 LUX, totally
resistance to external interference.

Infrared Curtain detector for exterior
The detector CURTAIN-PM creates an area of protection
or privacy (like a curtain) to protect places like
entrances, windows and open fields. This type of
detector allows the free movement of people and
within the protected area without an alarm sounded.
The detector has protection, waterproof, allowing it to
be installed indoors or outdoors.
To increase the reliability of detection and false alarm
immunity the detector is equipped with protection
against attempts to block (masking) of the IR beam.
Detects transparent objects like glass and plastic and
attempts to block the lens through spray paint.
The detector CURTAIN-PM also combines two detection
technologies through detection: passive infrared and
microwave.

Door Window Contact Sensors are cheaper option for
intrusion detection but these sensors will alert only
when intruder has already entered the premises. While
the proposed Infrared detectors alert while intruder is
still outside and trying to get in. Therefore, infrared
detectors are recommended for better security.
However, one Door contact will be used at the door
between Kitchen and Grease Kitchen.

Motion detection is not required for this area because there will be guards movement all the times.
However, CCTV system will be configured to pop up camera view in guards room on motion
detection so the guard will be aware of all movement around main building.

If motion is detected by CCTV Camera in this area, related camera screen will popup at Guard
Room’s CCTV Display, enabling guards to quickly verify that it is an intruder or one of their
colleagues. If no intruder, guard will reset the alarm otherwise Siren can be triggered or alert
message can be sent to any email, mobile phone or control center of Armed Response Company.

Infrared Sensors Placement – First Floor
Windows at first floor are not that vulnerable because of height and no standing
place like shade. Therefore, these sensors can be eliminated but these Beam
Detectors and PIR Motion sensor are necessary.
