Dear Mrs. Croxdale:
When I was little I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I was always making up
assignments for my neighbors to do just so I could grade them. Naturally it didn’t take
me long to decide to be in Ready, Set, Teach! my junior year. This is my second year in
the program, now called Practicum in Education and Training, and I am positive that this
is where I belong. Being a senior at Richland High School, I am looking forward to
continuing on my way towards a career in Education.
Last year in my previous internship I worked directly with the children and
taught a few lessons. It was a blast. I now have more confidence in my skills in the
classroom. I have also volunteered at my church in the children’s program as well as
volunteering at Hangman’s House of Horror’s last season. I know that sounds crazy but I
helped the Haunted House donate tons of money to many charities around the state. I
promise I didn’t scare any children.
I am very excited to work in Mrs. Jones classroom. I will arrive at your school on
Thursday, October 7 around 10:00 a.m. and report to the main office. On the days that I
do spend at your school I will be leaving at 11:30 a.m. to return to Richland High School.
I am thrilled to be at your school because I know this will be a wonderful learning
experience for me. I am very appreciative of your staff and the time you are taking to
help me become a teacher.
Sincerely,
Mari-Kathrin Wilkey
