Is a meeting in which someone asks you questions to see
if your are suitable for a job or a course.

attending telephone interviews;
a) Find a quiet place.
b) Make sure you have signal on your phone.
c) Have supporting documents in front of you.

While developing your brand statement, try as
much as possible that it delivers answers to
questions such as ;
a) What are you selling (C.V)?
b) What you are best at(Value)?
c) Who you serve(Audience)?
d) How you do it uniquely?
e) What three things would you do to add value to
the company?
f) What three words would people use to describe
you?
g) What type of an employer are you going to be?

 Do your Research.
While gathering your information ,the following is
worth noting.
a) Let your research be commercially based.
b) Research about what actually the company
does.
c) Research the market place
d) Know about what their competitors are doing ;
their strength and weaknesses.
e) Research the interviewers as well ; build up a
relationship with them and try to following them
on social media e.g. LinkedIn ,twitter etc. these
will make them feel that your interested in them.

A brag file is a list of documents that say
good things about us to make the company
believe in you.

a) Always research the company to its depth when
it comes to its culture.

In order to prepare appropriate answers one must first
understand the pattern of questions to be asked.
The theme of many questions is to check the following
;Leadership,creativity,motivation,problem,solving,organisationl
skill etc..
Types of Questions.
a) Competent Based Questions.
b) Strength Based Questions.
c) Curve Ball Questions.
d) Common Asked Questions.

 Competent Based Questions.
These are usually logical and meant to check if you
can do the job.
Examples of Competent Based Questions
a) Can you give an example of when you have
worked in a team?
b) Can you describe a challenging project that you
have planned and taken through to conclusion?
c) Describe a situation where you have
implemented a change?
d) Tell me about a time when you have influenced
someone else?

 Strength Based Questions.
These questions are meant to check if you want
the job and will fit into the company’s ethos.
Why ? Its because People need an employer who
is happier ,
productive and loves what he is doing .
To efficiently prepare for this category of questions
one must undergo a thorough self analysis and
find out the following:
a) Strength – something your good at and enjoy
using it constantly without getting tired. It makes
you feel real you

b. Learned Behavior – Something that you can
do well (a skill)which doesn't energize you and
you may find it draining. You may continue
doing it because others tell you that you are
good at it so you believe it to be a strength .
c. Weakness- Something that you do not
perform well and also leaves you drained and
de-energized or de-motivated.
d. Unrealized strength- things that energize
us and we could perform well in but have not
had much opportunity to use it. Unrealized
strengths are the areas of greatest potential for
development.
