Researching Interviews
 I first watched an interview between Didier Drogba
and Rio Ferdinand, two iconic figures of English
football. Through out the interview the cameraman
maintains a low angle shot mainly at Drogba, however
alters the attention by also filming the interviewer,
Rio Ferdinand. The low angle shot emphasises on the
successful careers that both of these individuals have
had; perceiving them as a high authority.
 They also use a shot of both participants at a more
levelled angle to connotate that they have had an
equally successful footballing career.
 Also in the interview they showed footage of Didier
Drogba playing football as well as important moments
in his career. This footage also contains the audio
from the match which makes the clip seem more
atmospheric.
 I then watched an interview between Paul Pogba and
Thierry Henry.
 At the start of this interview, they include a lot of
clips of the two individuals meeting, with a slow
motion effect added to it.
 The camera looks as if it was used with a monopod
as it is relatively stable footage with slight
movements. They applied this effect as they are
located in the training ground, where Manchester
United prepare for the following matches. This
training facility would have experienced a lot of
movement and exercise, which is what they are
trying to connotate by avoiding a stable interview
where no movement is shown.
 Also, both of the participants in the shot are moving
around, and therefore the cameraman is trying to
emphasise this movement by also moving.
 Like the pervious video, they also use low angle
shots to manipulate the high authority that these
two individuals have.
 This is a very unique interview between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and
the interviewer. The camera is placed on a tripod, a stable,
simplistic interview.
 The cameraman uses a low angle close up shot of Zlatan, in an
off centre position. By Ibrahimovic being placed slightly more to
the left, the viewer will feel on edge and possibly uncomfortable.
This positioning could symbolise his footballing career as he is
already established as one of the greatest strikers of all time,
however he has been known for having an unorthodox
personality. Over the years he has made many controversial
statements that has given mixed opinions, which is symbolised
here with his positioning in the interview.
 This video is very simplistic because the interview is all from one
shot. It doesn’t feature footballing clips, transitions, or
movements. Also the camera angle remains the same through
out. Saying this, these could have been applied as the producer is
trying to make the viewer listen to Zlatan, without focusing on
any other aspect of the interview. In conclusion, the interviewer
wants to capture these unusual views and perceptions that Zlatan
has, making this interview extremely effective.
