The intern completed an internship at the Sullivan Center, which enabled them to achieve their goals of gaining patient interaction experience, understanding how clinics operate, and learning from advanced practice providers (APPs) in a primary care setting. Key activities included learning the clinic's electronic health record system, discussing cases with providers, examining patients, and creating a quick reference guide for future interns. The experience reinforced the intern's goal of becoming a physician assistant by strengthening their interest in medicine and patient care. Courses in public health, healthcare systems, health behavior, medical terminology, and human health were useful. Health literacy training was applied through patient education.
