1. WWW.INTERNETSCELEBRITIES.COM
OBJECTIVE:
‘The Internets Celebrities make videos exposing injustice of all sorts— economic, political AND culinary. Dallas Penn and Rafi Kam—two accomplished
bloggers who bring their bold style to the visual realm—along with director Casimir Nozkowski uncover truths and celebrate urban culture. Bending
and breaking the fine line between non-fiction and satire, Dallas, Rafi and Casimir shoot exclusively on-location, uncovering the hard-to-reach but no less
fascinating corners of our society. The ICs will stop at nothing to speak truth to power in videos that employ their unique, accessible, dramatic, and
cost-effective aesthetic.’
‘The Internets Celebrities put their ear
to the street with an investigation of
how the economy effed-upped-ness is
affecting the most micro of businesses:
‘Get to know your friendly neighborhood bodega!’ The street vendor.’ ‘a how-to guide for stress-free public peeing’
2. METHOD: TAKE IT TO THE STREETS ->
DEMONSTRATE (the phone booth piss) PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES (vendors for a day)
GET THE DIRT ASK AND ENGAGE THE PEOPLE
(the intricacies of vendor licensing) (interview the vendors on their turf)
4. METHOD: HIT THE POINT HOME WITH HUMOR AND SARCASM ->
‘Thank you folks in the Bronx for staying so poor, so we can shop and
eat like a king for a dollar.’
‘[Whole Foods] is the Taj Mahal of pisseries.’
8. SUM IT UP:
Internets Celebrities probe the underlying intricacies of seemingly commonplace sites and
occurences of life in New York City.
Internets Celebrities are especially interested in exposing the social injustices, race-based and
political factors that contribute to policy-making and shape institutions that are often taken
for granted.
Through their work, Internet Celebrities urge other New Yorkers to also ask questions, push the
limits of policy and work within existing laws and frameworks in order to challenge them.
