International Program Director
This role executes the strategic vision for the International Agriculture and
Food Security division of an exemplary non-profit humanitarian aid
organization and the position is based in Arlington, VA.

This leadership position develops, modifies, manages and has oversight of
implementation of sustainable production, development, marketing and
agriculture technology for global programs in Africa and Asia. The
responsibilities include Business Development, leading design and
development of global programs, proposal development and submissions for
funding. The successful candidate will have working funding bases in
government and the private sector.

Responsibilities:
  Develop long-tern strategic planning and programs
  Provide leadership in the identification and development of tracking, and
  securing new funding
  Timely and successful project and program implementation
  Direct and manage technical and Technical support staff in agriculture
  food safety in the US and worldwide
  International, national and internal relationship building and managing for
  external partners and collaborators with in donor community

Education:
Masters Degree required, MBA or Ph.D. in related field preferred.

Experience:
  Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in agriculture and related fields
  including business planning, proposal management, project administration
  and staff management in programs financed by the USG, multilateral
  donors, and the UN.
  International experience working and living in a developing country is
  preferred with specific interest in Africa and Asia.
  Minimum of 5 years experience with a notable track record of managing
  innovative proposal teams and securing new business. Experience in the
  private sector is highly valued.

Knowledge/Skills:
  Strong business skills, an understanding of human resource management,
  business planning and achieving tangible financial results, are required.
  Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and at least
  one other language.
  Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and sensitively with a broad
  cross-section of internal staff and external donors at the senior as well as
  grass roots level are essential.
  Sound analytical skills, including ability to understand contemporary
  development concepts, themes and issues and present them clearly and
  effectively.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Demonstrated strong organizational management and networking skills,
including management of multiple tasks and conflict resolution.
Understanding of the importance of gender in development and the ability
to include gender analysis in program development.
