Silvia Totaro is an interior and product designer based in Milan, Italy. Some of her recent projects include renovating a former garage space into a creative design studio called AndStudios, designing a private apartment for a young couple with an emphasis on functional and decorative solutions, and conceptualizing an outdoor cafe called "IN&OUT" that brings the experience of dining outdoors inside through the use of materials and furnishings. She also designs pop-up stores and creates handcrafted wooden products inspired by local Italian traditions.

Creative readaptation of a dismissed garage
to give birth to AndStudios, creative hub and
design studio in Milan. Characteristics are the
use of unfinished surfaces of raw materials,
typical of industrial environments, the steel
furnishing and the vintage-looking furniture.

5. H2Ore

Thought for those ones living more outside
their houses than inside, H2ore aims to inter-
pret the new scenarios of the contemporary
living. The house is designed with glass walls
for a full view on the new landscapes, with
a “skin” in brise-soleil which preserves the
privacy of the occupants, for a design that
cares and is sensible to both the functional
and emotional needs.

Complete study of the furnishing of a
three-room apartment for a young cou-
ple. Renewed in a contemporary tone, the
residence shows interesting functional and
decorative solutions. The ambient lighting is
amplified by light and reflecting finishing.

Concept and internal design for a new for-
matted café’: ‘IN&OUT’, the apparent idea to
give yourself the pleasure of a meal in direct
contact with the nature, while staying inside
the walls of an artificial setting. Outdoor fur-
niture, wall covering and flooring are all used
to recreate the ideal atmosphere.

17. Ci vorrebbe il formaggio

2014 - Milan
Inspired by the logo of the Valle Camonica
(central Lombardy, Italy), to enhance the
local traditions and flavours, “there’s only
the cheese missing” is a cutting board and
a serving plate at the same time, handmade
with solid wood by experience artisans. The
ceramic bowl, main character, is thought to
accompany the typical food of the valley
with molten cheese, as an extra yet local
added flavouring.
