This document summarizes a presentation on artificial intelligence (AI) opportunities and challenges given by Sylvain Carle at Le Web à Québec in April 2017. The presentation discusses the potential of deep learning and AI, as well as opportunities for startups in AI application development. It also covers challenges regarding the ethical and legal issues raised by AI, and the roles and responsibilities of public organizations in developing policies around AI.

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere, and sometimes it feels like something that has just emerged out of nothing. Here we look at the key milestones in the journey towards AI.
Emerging Technologies- Making Great Things PossibleCSM Technologies
Technology is ever-changing, spurring organizations to challenge their status quo. Agile organizations are making a quick switch to digital technologies. In fact, this agility was felt more after the Covid pandemic struck the world. The road to digital transformation has paced up. What would have taken years is happening in months! And Emerging Technologies are the prime movers of this transformation. It’s not only the workplace cultures that are attuning to this change but also the approach by companies in engaging customers.
At CSM Technologies, we have internalized digital transformation. What’s more, we are constantly innovating to upgrade our solutions with Emerging Technologies. There’s a slice of Emerging Tech in every solution that we create and onboard for our customers. We are proud to create thriving ecosystems for niche technologies with ample scope for replication across geographies.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an important aspect of our everyday life. From a common topic in science fiction and future studies it is now being used in a wide spectrum of day to day services, both for advanced technologies and personal applications. AI seems associated with startups and several companies do develop and promote AI as their unique selling product. However, with almost 7 years of continuous ‘AI’ developments how promising could an AI startup still be? This talk aims to describe the AI challenges as experienced from the eyes of a startup, its challenges and opportunities as well as how connections with lead Universities in the area could help in future synergies.

Benefiting from Semantic AI along the data life cycleMartin Kaltenböck
Slides of 1 hour session of Martin Kaltenböck (CFO and Managing Partner of Semantic Web Company / PoolParty Software Ltd) on 19 March 2019 in Boston, US at the Enterprise Data World 2019, with its title: Benefiting from Semantic AI along the data life cycle.
After almost a quarter of a century of “being digital” where are our organizations? Why do we still need the consulting firms of the world to publish manifestos and howtos about “organizing for a digital world” or “the case for digital reinvention”? Is there a digital divide in the C suite? Will startups really disrupt incumbents? Do you have FOMO? Did it really take 25 years to get from “New Information and Communications Technologies” to ICT, to IT… can we agree just on the “T” now? Or do we call it Innovation? Free advice: it will not worked out as planned. This session will hopefully provide as many answers as questions and the speaker sure hopes to make it as entertaining as though provoking.

Artificial Intelligence is trendy. Every event, every strategy meeting and every consulting firm talks about it. This whitepaper aims to separate actual facts and important background information from the overarching marketing buzz.
You will get a short but information-rich wrap up about: What causes the current hype? Where are we today? What are the innovation leaders doing with AI? And what are immediate action points to focus on by applying artificial intelligence to your business?
APD along with partners IBM and Australia Post, hosted ‘Best of the Next’, an event which brought industry leaders and clients together to discuss innovation in the face of digital disruption, and what businesses can do to capitalise on these trends.
The topics discussed by APD’s own Chief Transformation Officer, Inês Almeida and CEO, Scott Player included:
• Artificial Intelligence: Hopes and Fears in Perspective
• The Impact of 5G and Greater Connectivity
• Privacy and security after the Facebook uproar: self-sovereign ID, advertising and Blockchain
Guest speakers Tung Nguyen and Cameron Gough from Australia Post presented their latest innovation around Digital ID.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Il existe des tonnes d’opportunités pour les startups
avec un fort bassin de talent pour développer ces
produits et expériences en “mode IA”.

2. La définition de l’IA change tout le temps…
“John McCarthy, who invented the name Artificial Intelligence, noted, the
definition of specialized AI is changing all of the time. Specifically, once a task
formerly thought to characterize artificial intelligence becomes routine
— like the aforementioned chess-playing, or Go, or a myriad of other taken-for-
granted computer abilities — we no longer call it artificial intelligence.”
