Scientists at the University of Nottingham have developed a toothpaste-like substance that can replace bone grafts for most cases. The substance hardens when it reaches body temperature, allowing it to be easily injected into the body without incisions. While it eliminates the need for bone grafts and their associated surgeries, the joint where the substance fuses with existing bone may still be weak and require pins for support.
