The New York City headquarters of one of the world’s leading banks reached out to Trane when it needed an HVAC system that addressed their overall goals of energy savings and environmental consciousness. Trane installed a thermal storage system that cools the building with ice made at night during off-peak, reduced-rate hours —reducing on-peak energy consumption by over 2.15 million kWh per year. The New York State Energy, Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) presented bank with a ceremonial check in the amount of $820,000 representing the amount of the incentives provided by NYSERDA through its New York Energy Smart™ Commercial and Industrial Performance Program, and its Peak-Load Reduction Program.
