Processed Foods
After listening to my speech my classmates will be better able to
select the foods they want to eat by identifying which foods are
processed foods.

•

I will describe exactly what processed foods are.

● I will explain the effects processed food has on the human body.

● I will acknowledge which foods are good processed foods versus which foods are
bad processed foods.
I will describe exactly what processed foods are.

Processed foods can be described as
“any deliberate change in a food that
occurs before it’s available for us to eat”.

These foods contain large amounts of sodium and sugar, are high in calories, and
provide little to no nutritional value when compared to the calories they contain.
I will explain the effects processed foods have on
the human body.

Simply the effects processed foods have on the human body are
diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and obesity.
I will acknowledge which foods are good
processed foods versus which foods are bad
processed foods.
Processed foods range from minimally
processed to ready-to-eat foods.
