When I was 23, I took part in a TV quiz
show. Despite I faced smarter, more
experienced guys, I won a series of 6 episodes
in a row, being the youngest participant to
succeed.
Little did I understand then that it had to do
with the fact that I knew quite a bit of many
things, while my rivals knew virtually everything
on a handful of fields. Not to be easily
overwhelmed by a hostile environment played
its part too.
That’s a good metaphor of my professional
career, in which the guiding thread was to root
success on balancing disciplines, restlessly
learning as much as I could on many fields, a
holistic view and developing analytical skills
and tools knowledge in a continuous way.
