The Indus Valley Civilization flourished between 3200 BC and 1800 BC in modern-day Pakistan. It exhibited key elements of advanced civilization, including planned cities laid in a precise grid system with central citadels, standardized bricks, and sophisticated plumbing and sewerage systems in every house. The Indus Valley cities also featured religious polytheism, a written language, and archaeological sites like the Great Bath in Mohenjo Daro, showing it was a complex civilization that developed advanced urban planning and technologies for its time period over 2000 years ago.
