According to the Bhagavata Purana, Jaya and
Vijaya, gatekeepers at Vaikuntha, one day saw
four Kumaras - Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and
Sanatkumara - had come to meet Vishnu.
Thinking of them to be mere children, not
manasaputras of Brahma as they actually were,
Jaya and Vijaya stopped them at the door.
Enraged, the Kumaras cursed the two that they
would have to leave Vaikunta and be born as
mere mortals on earth. Jaya and Vijaya appealed
to Vishnu but indeed, they were born as
Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha; Ravana and
Kumbhakarna; and Dantavakra and Shishupala,
who were the enemies of lord Vishnu on his
different avatars.
Now why they had become the marked enemies
of Lord Vishnu?

Vishnu said the curse of the Kumaras could not be
reversed. Instead, he gave Jaya and Vijaya two
options : either take seven births on earth as a
devotee of Vishnu, or take three births on earth as his
enemy. Unable to be away from Vishnu for seven
births, Jaya and Vijaya chose to be born as his enemy.

presidency magistrate Mr. R. L. Mukherjee. Advocate Amal Mitra
complained in the court against the accused people, X and Sitangshu Kumar
Dasgupta, who were said to have committed an offence punishable under
Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 109 IPC (abetment).
On 6 March 1968, Amal Mitra presented two witnesses - Samirendra Basu and
Kaloboron Ghosh, both residents of Ballygunj. Eventually X and Mr.
Dasgupta were convicted, though both party and State Government of West
Bengal appealed to the High Court of Kolkata. The High Court upheld the
verdict given by Bankshal Court. Subsequently under Supreme Court appeal
number 174/1973 for X and Shitangsu Kumar Dasgupta versus Amal Mitra
and West Bengal Government, the final verdict of Apex court came out,
overturning all the lower court judgments after seventeen long years
acquitting X from all charges.

state Government , though the whole plot was masterminded by
Congress (I) at a time when Y, the CM was away in the US to undergo a
heart surgery. Since Congress was in power at the center and thus their

the move, leading to a massive anti-Centre protest against the dismissal
of the elected government. Y returned from US and wore black clothes
and launched a statewide yatra to protest the dismissal of his

first instance in political history of India when a dismissed CM was
reinstated. This political success gave Y’s party such popularity that they
