• _________ is a term used by fishermen in
Kerala to describe when the sea creeps in
stealthily like a thief, was adopted by UNESCO
in March this year to describe a specific kind
of freak tidal surge that occurs in good
weather. This is caused when swells generated
by storms elsewhere get carried and amplified
by coastal currents, resulting in large waves
and flooding of low-lying areas.

• X is a Gujarati mixed vegetable dish. The name of this
dish comes from the Gujarati words "matlu" meaning
earthen pot and “______" meaning upside down since
they have been traditionally cooked upside down
underground in earthen pots fired from above.
• The dish is a seasonal one, comprising the vegetables
that are available on the South Gujarat coastline during
the winter season, including (amongst others) green
beans, unripe banana, muthia, and purple yam. These
are cooked in a spicy curry that sometimes
includes coconut.

many suggested “Hello” for which he was snubbed. He
later suggested X-Y which was picked by Netaji and
later was even used by Nehru in his Independence Day
address to the nation. He also picked up a surname
when there was a dispute on the colour of the National
