Anando was initiated in response to the need for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to have safe places to go during the day when their working parents are unable to care for them. It aims to create a secure and friendly environment for these children to grow through activities like holiday camps, a weekend club, and a library. It also provides school support and seeks to address children's holistic development through various experiences and channeling their energy in a positive direction.

1. The world is a busy place today. The varied needs of children are often
overshadowed by their parents' need to work longer and harder. This is
particularly true for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, where
economic compulsions ensure that both parents are away at work
through the day. In this scenario, parents worry about the safety of their
children in their absence. The children, on the other hand, are deprived of
stimulation and care and are often attracted to life on the streets for want
of better options. It is in response to this need that ANANDO was initiated
