Improving data collection and information channels to support performance improvement -Insights from the ECHO Project
This document discusses two ongoing transitions in health systems - from fragmented to integrated data, and from incremental to exponential data growth. It describes challenges in making sense of large amounts of data and turning it into useful knowledge. The ECHO project aims to address these challenges by facilitating access to real-world patient data, data sharing and linkage, and developing comparable health system performance indicators. The ultimate goal is providing timely, meaningful information to help decision-makers improve performance.
