IMPORTANT PEOPLE AND
    EVENTS IN THE
    RENAISSANCE
        By: Rena
POPE PIUS II
POPE PIUS II

 In 1405,1465, He made the first to make official use to use an idea
of "Europa“. He divided Europe, Asia, and Africa into continents. If
Europe, Asia, and Africa our earth would have been completely
different. Because the economy, population, people, religion and etc.
would have been different, which could impact us in a negative and
positive way, it depends on the way we look at it.
JOAN OF ARC
JOAN OF ARC

 Joan of Arc was just 12 years old when she started hearing and
seeing visions of angels and saints and that should touch and feel
them. In 1431, She had then told everyone that god has told her that
the British were coming. She was then put on trial, because she was
accused and was put charges on heresy and sorcery by an ecclesiastical
court of inquisition. This is has an huge impact on the catholic
people, because now they all respect her and they call her their saint.
LEONARDO DA VINCI
LEONARDO DA VINCI
                PARACHUTE
 In 1452-1519, Leonardo Da Vinci invented or thought of the idea of the parachute. He had
drawn out a simple drawing a parachute with a man holding it. In the sketch he wrote “If a man
have a tent made of linen of which the apertures (openings) have all been stopped up, and it be twelve braccia
(about 23 feet) across and twelve in depth, he will be able to throw himself down from any great height without
suffering any injury.” The parachute was not actually made until 2000, when a parachutist and
enthusiast tested out the parachute. The only changes they made was strengthen the harness. He
didn’t only create a parachute but he also invented other modern technology. I think without
Leonardo’s invention and idea’s our world would be completely different, because maybe half of
the things we use for transportation might not exist and technology too which could cause us
some negative impact but on the other hand positive impact, because there might not be as
much problems on the internet.
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

In1492, Christopher Columbus found a new land in the west. His
goal was to find a new route to Asia but instead he found a new land
in the west. This has a huge impact to us now, because if Christopher
Columbus didn’t find the new land then there might have never been
such things as Americans.
GALILEO
GALILEO

In late 1500’s, Galileo stepped forward to revolutionize science. He told
everyone that the earth went around the sun but the roman Catholic Church
was against the theory so Galileo was found guilty for his theory. Galileo’s
theory was that the earth goes around the sun but if that theory never existed
then the people in the Renaissance would have thought that god was the one
creating all these changes. This would be a huge difference to us if Galileo
theory was never figured out, because our minds and knowledge would be
different and everyone’s perspectives would be different.
THE MEDICI FAMILY

                The Medici
                family logo
THE MEDICI FAMILY

 In 1532, The Medici family found out a system for the Bank. The
Medici had a small business on banking but then it became pretty big.
If the Medici family never found the system for the bank then our
economy might have been different and the way we deal with our
money might not be as good. But on the other hand it might have
been a positive thing, because some people might not be in debt.
MONA LISA
MONA LISA

 Mona Lisa was created in 1503-1506 by a painter called Leonardo da
Vinci. This Paining has been acclaimed to be "the best known, the most
visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied
work of art in the world." This painting has had a huge impact in our lives
now, because it has given us a new perspective of art and this painting has
so much message and mystery behind which has made it so famous. If
this painting didn’t exist then the painting might be different, because
“Mona Lisa” has given most people different ideas and perspective.
MACHIAVELLI
MACHIAVELLI

In 1512, He wrote the book called "The Prince“ .Machiavelli changed
the world, because he wrote quotes which changed the world. For
example, the leaders would use the quotes but would twist it the
other way. If Machiavelli did not discover the quotes then there might
have never been the leaders that changed the world (Positive and
negative way).
MARTIN LUTHER
MARTIN LUTHER

 In1520, Martin Luther wrote the 95 theses and pinned on the church door. He
was then put into charges of heresy, because he was not following the church rules
and was going against the church. He was also put into court with the inquisitor.
Even though some people agreed with his theses, the church did not like the way he
thought or making his own religion. This has a huge impact on us now, because
without Martin Luther’s 95 theses there wouldn’t be different types of religions.
That means there wouldn’t be monks which could give us negative impact in our
life.
KING HENRY VII
KING HENRY VII

 King Henry VIII was a very cruel man. He had a short temper and was known for
executed people. He had 6 wives. His goal was to get a Baby boy, because he wanted to
crown the son the King. But when his first wife got a baby girl, Elizabeth, he wanted a
divorce but the law in England was that you could not divorce. He begged the church but
the church kept saying “no” so he finally just made his own church and made a new law
which is you are allowed to divorce. Even though King Henry VIII was very tricky and
made up his own law it has helped us now, because if King Henry VIII never created the
Law, you can divorce, then right now there might have never been such thing as divorcing
which could have an negative impact in our life but also maybe a positive impact.
QUEEN ELIZABETH 1 OF
     ENGLAND
ELIZABETH 1 OF ENGLAND

In 1558-1603, Queen Elizabeth 1 was the first female ruler which made a huge difference to
England and she also created a lot of war but since she defeat most of the wars which then gave
more peace to England. She had also reduced the national debt of England to zero which had
made England become a world power. She was locked in prison by her half-sister, Mary, and
then she became the queen of England which was then named “Bloody Mary’. f Elizabeth was
not crowned as Queen then England could have had a high chance of being in debt and also not
having any peace at all. This impacts a lot of British people, because Queen Elizabeth 1 is from
England and if she was not the queen then the Brits would have had some debt (which could
cause a lot of financial problems) and might not have any peace with the countries.
ISAAC NEWTON
ISAAC NEWTON

 In 1666, Isaac Newton came up with the idea of gravity, because
when Isaac was sitting under the tree an apple fell which he then had
the idea of gravity. This is a huge impact to us, because without his
knowledge then our knowledge of the world would be false
information. We would also be lost with the idea of space and
science. So if Isaac didn’t figure out the theory then we would all still
be wondering around and wondering about the world.
